   Post your most intriuging and controvercial hubs here for everyone to see and read and give feedback on. Here's mine to coincide with a hub a wrote.
   
   
   Does sex really sell because it's just sex, or because we're so stupid we by into the word alone? What is it with sex? I don't get why it's being made to be such a big deal.
   This is a touchy, controversial subject. Some people it doesnt bother and others its degrading. So what's really the deal?
   
   I'm still trying to figure this one out, lol.

   Somethings are naturally built into us.  The survival of humanity depended upon the males need for and to be attracted to sex.  Yes we are smarter now and know better but it is still there.
   Some things we have a hard time avoiding.  We had a horrible train wreck in DC yesterday; the worst metro disaster in its history.  The cops had to keep back the gawking crowds.  They had no reason to be there other the to see the wreck; they needed to see it.

   I'm quite interested in this from a Google TOS point of view, I know there are quite a few risqué hubs here at HP, and have thought about publishing a few myself.  However I've always steered clear out of fear of breaking the Google terms.
   
   Obviously Pornography is not allowed, and nor is content related to adult sex toys, etc.  But I've also been warned that anything with a specifically adult theme is also dodgy, and could result in account closure.
   
   Anybody know exactly where the line lies with regard to mature content and Google Adsense?

   That line seems to be a very blurry line, given what I've seen at hubpages.
   
   It seems that the folks that do that make sure that their text is quite vanilla, while the pics aren't. I just ran across a few while I was looking at the New Hubs feature a couple of days ago. Given that they use bland text, I don't know how people find them.
   
   I've been meaning to go back and see if there is google adsense on them, or if they're even still here. But I lost my list.

   Yes I agree with the blurry part.
   Maybe its just me ,but some Hubs are as explicit as any article in a Playboy or Cosmo.
   Must be the Innuendo that sells..

   Good points Eaglekiwi!  My sister used to subscribe to Cosmo and I thought it was a pretty explicit magazine in some ways.  Many of the articles were about how women can keep their men interested in bed, and after awhile it was the same thing over and over again - just with new titles and new spins.

    Thanks all for your input, it certainly is a blurry issue, what HubPages themselves are willing to publish is of no real concern to me, but Google themselves can be very touchy about their ads being displayed on anything remotely 'Adult', and for anyone who has put a lot of effort into building up their Adsense content portfolio, it would be a real shame to lose your account by stepping into this Gray territory and being deemed to have crossed the line.
    
    Because in 99% of cases, once your Adsense account is gone, it's gone.

          Yep, sex toys for example, type 'sex toy' into Google and you'll see ads chock-a-block all over the page, but you're not allowed to write about them.

       Oh yeah, Google would sell ad space for badly cut drugs and third world sex trafficking if they could turn a buck and get away with it, but they won't let you put Adsense on content about these things because 'we're a family friendly company'.

    Obviously sex sells. Just look around.
    My view is..If you don't like it, avoid it. Don't read a hub you know is going to be controversial and then gripe about it or flag it. Sex is out there, everywhere. We aren't going to change that anytime soon, that's just a fact. If you don't like something, ignore it. No one is holding your eyelids open forcing you to read anything.
    Ok, whew, glad i got that off my chest, feel a little better

       Good observations.
       I wrote a hub to test the theory that sex sells, as soon as I put some sexy pics on it, it got more hits than any other hub by a mile! It also broke the rules and was suspended until I took down the pics and replaced them with less racy ones.

    The problem with sex titled hubs is that for the most part, the viewer is not a buyer. I have made nothing from my test hub, yet it has had many thousands of page views.

    See this is very interesting... this is why I wanted to get a hub started and I must say I probably did start it in the wrong place, my apologies...
    
    On an different note, I wrote the hub I did, because I think the whole sex thing is retarded... really... but it's obvious it sells and it's out there. I mean no one any kind of harm, ill regard or anything... I was only writing the hub that I did, because at the time it's what was on my mind and what I was dealing with... I write as a way of venting sometimes, don't we all?
    
    Everyone's perspective is truely great to know and I appreciate the feedback.
