This is pretty cool, just waiting for my second hub to be approved.
Anyone know of any good guides to get more traffic to their hubpages, or do people rely on organic traffic?
Also, is amazon affiliate items on articles a good idea?
Good job on starting up on hub pages, its challenging but a worth wile endeavor. Keep it up
Also amazon wouldn't hurt but from what I have seen don't expect much from amazon unless you are writing a review
You can write about the beach and sell surfboards.
Organic traffic is the way to go. Make sure you use the Google Keyword tool and target low competition keywords with high searches. I am learning all the time on this but it brings you traffic without having to spend all your time promoting your hubs via social sites. Read other's hubs by all means but don't spend all your time doing it. The way to get traffic is to publish on topics people want to read.
Congrats on your efforts mate...
For directing traffic... I found that by putting big signs and arrows up at major intersections throughout the world... I had a great response initially but was later sued for causing 8667 traffic accidents!
Keep it up mate! You got your ad program all turned on so you can earn a bit?
Welcome to hub pages and congrats on he second hub. Organic traffic is great, but it will sometimes take a while to get started. So I found pinging to the search engines is a good way to speed up listing with them, just search for google ping and then promote on a few social networking sites like twitter and FB. that is usually enough to get the ball rolling. Amazon is hit and miss. I have sold 6 books in 10 months so only made $5 odd in commission. Don't expect big sales unless you write a big money review and get lucky with a sale.
Good luck!
Thanks for the advice. I have a pinger, and I also have a 14500 ish follower twitter account. Facebook is only just started but have around 160 followers so far. I will try promoting that way abit once I get some quality posts done on hubpages.
Congrats on the second hub, you are already on a good start with the username you chose, as I see that you write about tech stuff. Just a little hint as soon as you publish a hub make sure you add it to your profile spotlight asap as well as any groups you have created, this way your new article can at least be viewed by fellow hubbers that visit your profile to help ensure that your article gets featured. Daisydayz is correct that organic traffic can take a while to get you can also submit your RSS feed (yourUserName.hubpages.com/hubs/latest?rss) to google as a sitemap and it will help google index your articles faster. Of course there is a lot more advice which you can get from reading my articles, which I gotta get writing more of. I don't have micro niche finder, nor have I used it, but if you are seeing a steady flow of traffic from the keywords it provided for your first article and the visits are quality visits organic traffic from your target market should increase.

Hello, my learned colleagues! I am new to this (posted a few hubs last night for the first time). I have been reading forums for several hours today, as well as a few interesting hubs (thank you, Mark Knowles), about blogging and creating links and adsense, and all kinds of intriguing stuff that I...

I am writing articles for this website since past 3 months. At present, I have 38 featured and published hubs. I have joined for Amazon and google Adsense program. Past two months I earned like very less amount, less than 1/2 dollar. If I continue writing and publishing at the rate of one article...

There should be a quick and easy way for readers who aren't interested in writing to sign up and follow HubPages writers, topics, or niche sites without actually signing up for HubPages. I just had a reader say they really like PetHelpful and wanted to subscribe to the site. Unfortunately, the only...

Here's something for you guys to consider, and I am simply reiterating a comment I made on another post. You need organic traffic to your Hubs! Why? If you are using adsense, or any other monetization method on Hubpages, you will not, I repeat, you will NOT get credit for clicks on your ads from...
