    How did that happen?

I remember Misha showing me how this happened.   There was somewhere on Youtube where you could click to see what other sites had embedded the video - which meant that embedding a video gave you a free backlink.

Stuffed if I can find it now.

      Totally understandable.

I guess there is somewhere there where people can post links?

Another YouTube visitor showed up. I wish I knew how to find the source. I'd go tweet and FB some of their videos if they are worthy.

If you go to a video's page on YouTube and click statistics, it will show where they got traffic.
If they got the traffic from you, a link will be there to your site.
That is unless they have public statistics disabled.
I've had some YouTube uploaders see that and actually put links to my sites on their profile because I got them so much traffic.

That's got to be it. I just recently stuck 2 youtube videos in one of my hubs. Apparently the source of those videos is now saying thanks!

Wow that is great. I think. I am new to this , how can you tell that they visited you?

This particular time it was real-time that dropped the dime. The one that made me fall out of my chair was when NASA showed up. Sure enough, they had put a link to one of my hubs on their website. Needless to say, that one made my day. I'm still getting traffic from them. 5,700 visitors so far...

      A more general answer:

Google Analytics will tell you most of everything you would want to know about your traffic.

      There is also http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/traffic-sources .

The NASA one is the one that is awesome. However, one has no control over that. However, I do hope that fellow hubbers have taken note of the YouTube-potential-traffic info that I have volunteered here. Seriously, I never knew... Every day is an adventure.

I'm thinking of changing this thread into a favorite-YouTube-Videos thread. I'm still going nuts over this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhyMvQ_N7Zc

        Very cool!
That's like when I had Huff post and the Register link to some of my stuff.
Makes you feel like a respected member of the internet!

The feeling I had when that happened cannot be described. HP even posted about it on their Facebook page.

Still traffic from NASA. Even if not money expected, still one heck of a lot of fun.

Not surprised, PDS. You are little gem of astrology and astronomy and all things mystical and mathematical. Money will follow me thinks- and gimme the link. big_smile

Too bad there is no 13/13/13. I don't know what to do from here. Not a complaint. Just wondering... As to previous discussions. In fact, we have 2 of 11.

All options are open to you, PDS. I have pinned all of your astrology hubs and whenever I receive a notification from Pinterest saying one of my pins have been repinned or liked, it's usually one of yours. You cover this subject very well, you know that I think you should expand on this, and explore every possible media. E-books, free, duplicate content not a concern and you will have loads of people willing to promote the product on your behalf. Your only investment would be time.

It was fun while it lasted. My traffic stats are rapidly retreating back to their usually mundane levels.

Maybe I'll start a porn site. If any hubbers want to send me their pictures... big_smile

I am amazed that the forums did not freak out about my NASA link. New times I guess.
