Can you publish (book or ebook) Hubs outside of HubPages?

   As HubPages is strict as to only having content on their pages, I wonder if we are able to take the hubs (of which we own the content) and compile for a book or ebook?

      Certainly - you own it, after all.
      
      If it is re-published anywhere on the web it will be considered duplicate material and unpublished on HP, though.

      It would be best to put them in an ebook rather than another website, they won't be flagged as duplicates.

         I had an unpublished article from Demand Media that when I tried to publish it on HubPages it was flagged as a duplicate.
         If I were to publish my Hubs in an ebook, I think I would have to avoid showing any page (the' look inside' portion) that is already on HubPages.
         Does anyone agree with that?

   E books are fine. The only thing you may not do is publish your articles on any other site that is similar to Hub Pages

   I am about to publish my first volume of poetry in book form and I have been told it won't affect my hubs. Other writers here have already done this. Your hubs should be a good "taster" or example of what your book has to offer. If you can generate interest in your writing here, then there is no reason why, with tweets, likes, shares, links and bookmarks on the web - it cannot also be successful in book form.
   
   The trick is to not replicate your writing on other pages in the net that can be indexed by search engines, which may penalize the user. Follow common sense of not duplicating your work elsewhere online and you should be fine. You should copy protect your work.

   I would argue that there is an ethical case to be made for not charging money for something available in full and for free online, unless you inform the reader of that fact.  Also, stuff available elsewhere for free cannot be sold on Amazon.

      Actually, if you own the copyright you can sell stuff which is already available online at Amazon. I would definitely tell someone that it is available for free. But many might want all the information in one place and are willing to pay for it.

         This is contrary to Amazon policy as of 2012.  They do not accept material freely available online or public domain material. And if they find it they will price match your title to $0.00 or delete it depending on whether they accept you are the copyright holder.

            I have a book that consists of articles from another website. They did unpublish it, but all I had to do was prove that I was the copyright holder and it was published again.

            "Selling content that is in the public domain is permissible through our program. We may request that you provide proof that your submitted material is actually in the public domain and may refuse public domain content already available through our Program or available through other retail sites. "

               If the complete work is online they tend to then 'price match' to zero as you agree not to sell for less elsewhere.  You seem to have escaped that.

                  My book is on sale for $3.99, I don't plan to sell it elsewhere....
