I notice that my longer hubs get more traffic from search engine. Three of the longer hubs are actually college coursework, about 2,500 to 3,000 words.
What is your experience? Do you think longer hubs generate more traffic?
No traffic to your hubs works with the keywords you choose. The keywords should pick up in google. Then you get the traffic.Try it out if i am wrong. Write about just feel words about 300 words thats it and add good keywords from google adwords tool you will get the traffic based on the keywords. Ofcourse that content should also be interesting.
No, I don't think longer hubs generate more traffic.
It's probably just the keywords that are getting you better traffic in the longer hubs.
Some of my longest hubs get no traffic, some get a lot. Some of my short hubs get tons of traffic and earn the most money.
It all depends on the keywords.
I've found about 800 words to be optimum for me. The more you write, the more the search engines have to work with. Sometimes you get surprised, something you wrote has a phrase, that you weren't optimizing for, and google absolutely loves it!
But what I love about this biz, is that SEO is different for everyone and works differently.
I've got to think it's a small factor... but there are more important things, like the content of the hub. But as a reader, I want a hub that doesn't take half a day to read.
What is an SEO exactly. And keywords - I don't those either. I've read a ton over the last couple of days here on the Hub and its still not sinking in. I am getting very very little traffic.
Jane
Hi, Jane, it's very easy. Basically, you are writing for search engine, so you use the words that readers use when they want to search for an article.
If reader ask "how to make money", then you have to use this term "how to make money", and not "how to generate income".
You can use Google Adwords Keywords Tool to find out which keywords to use.

Can anyone help me figure out how to best optimize my hubs? I have several that have scores of 90 and above but they hardly get any views...I'm not sure how I could improve that. Even ones that have been changed by Hubpages' editors still don't get much traffic. Is it just the titles that I should...

I joined hubpages one month ago and started writing hubs on weekends because I am very busy on working days. I have published 12-13 hubs right now and they are featured (12 of them while the 13th is still under review). Though my score on each hub is above 50 but I am seeing no traffic coming on my...

After 6 months on the site i've started the really wonder how many backlinks is a reasonable number to any hub, and really to a hub becoming successful? Or is it simply a lottery. What kind of figures do other hubbers consider?
