Traffic Nosedive...

   I just joined about a week ago, wrote some hubs and saw some pretty nice traffic trends over the past five days, but all of a sudden my traffic just nose dived. Any suggestions on how to sustain the traffic?

      One important is to write about topics that are 'evergreen' and constantly hold the same interest. i.e. my hub on ways to stay cool in the summer will get little to no traffic come winter time. If I wrote a hub about MJ's death, it would get traffic now, but not a month or so from now.
      
      I'm guessing most of your traffic was internally, from HubPages. It's nice, but won't earn you money and won't sustain itself.
      
      The best and probably only way to sustain traffic is to optimize for search engines. There are lots of great hubs on here to help you get started.
      
      I'd do a search for keywords, and SEO.

   If you're active in the forum it may just be internal traffic. So when those who are inclined to check out all the hubs of a new person have done so, your internal traffic will slow.

   What Girly Girl has said I agree with. What I'll add though is to also write about things you know, write about things that you'll enjoy explaining. The traffic will come a little slower than hot keywords, but your own unique perspective on a small niche topic can attract quality traffic.

   In addition to the advice you've received above I frequently find that hubs appear in Google for a few days when first published, then vanish completely for a short while, and then re-appear again.
   
   As you only joined 6 days ago, your hubs might have just entered that 'vanished' phase, if this is the case they should re-appear in Google in a few days.

   Thanks for all the advice, I noticed that when I shared my hubs on digg and stumbler today I got a really nice boost of traffic.

   Sorry but I think your picture is horrible and you have it on every single hub.  May not affect your traffic but it may affect how long people hang around.

      tell him how it is girl, No really the image is not to bad but having it on every hub looks stupid. you should add an image within your hub, one that is relevant to your hub. for example if you make a hub about dogs show some nice images of dogs, this will get the visitors interested. Put an image of a cat and they may well leave just as fast as they arrived.

   When people come to your hub through search engines, they don't know that you have used a cute icon, that's only what hubbers see. I haven't bothered to find a picture for every hub. And it hasn't hurt traffic or revenue.
   
   But once they get to the page, they do see that picture in the upper right. Up to you, if you think that picture engenders confidence in your opinion.

   Thanks for all the advice. I was able to more than double my traffic for the week in a day after doing some keyword search optimiztion, digg, and stumbleupon shares. I added some pictures just to spruce up the hubs, but all the traffic increase was from other factors.

      Remember don't spam however each article can be cross referenced with each other.
      
      say you find a relative blog or forum then add a comment with your keywords included within a hotlink. once you do this go digg that blog url. even if you dont own it just digg it, this will get your backlinks noticed quicker.
