My Pinterest post outranks my hub...

   Well, long time back, I pinned one of my hubs to Pinterest.
   
   I just now did a partial title search, without quotes.
   
   My Pinterest post ranked number one. Obviously my hub did not.
   
   Thoughts, anyone...?

      Pinterest and Tumblr sites tend to contain lots of repeat links to other people's pictures/tumblrs.. Since hub pages is just a one-stop location, there is no references or reposts in the pages of the hubs, unless people post links in comments.   Google ranks by how many popular pages link to your page.. Pininterest will rank above hubpages, because Pininterest is a more popular site.  You searched for the link or the title and title existed on hubpages and pininterest, since hubpages is not as world known as pininterest, hubpages takes back seat. So I guess find the most popular sites and post back-links to your hubpages articles to get them known. Maybe eventually hubpages will rank above pininterest, or the hubpages guys will have to take on the functionality of pininterest and "on up them", to get back on top. 
      
      I'm assuming you are using google.. The reason I'm on hub-pages is I did a search using a tool that I can't promote here, that permits me to assess the value of a site in terms of traffic and ad-dollars, and hub-pages listed somewhere in the vicinity of some popular porn sites in the value ratings which is good, so I figured this was a worthwhile crowd-sourcing medium.
      
      Maybe I should post articles to Pininterest. Good idea..

            BTW Pininterest offers me a all in one option to post to facebook and twitter.. The nice thing about Pininterest is that you can categorize your references, seems that its not just for photos, you can make references to websites.

   I mean think about it. A single, stupid pic outranks an 1100-word, multi-pic article that gets daily traffic. WTF is that...?

      When I pin something or tweet-- I usually add the words "click on photo for article" or "click on link for article". Of course if others are pinning or tweeting yours-- you can't do it.

   The secret is out. Any one who does not use Pinterest is missing out on the potential it has to help in hubs ranking better. When you pin or re-pin something, you can add hash tags and tagged words, and in search engine results, these Pin boards and their pinned articles, in this case hubs crop up.
   
   I only have a small few hubs pinned, as I didn't want to over promote them, but I have long known Pinterest is valuable for getting more exposure for hubs. Sometimes it can be more sense to use social media to help the discovery of our hubs than some hooey seo systems that Google yet again does not like.
   
   And it goes without saying, that I am getting more traffic and eyes on Pins than I get on Hub Pages.
   
   If you have a good hub, make sure you put really good photos or artwork in them, and they stand a greater chance of being pinned by someone.

      Get a tumblr account, fill your page with really good porn and link to your articles from that page..

   I only began using Pinterest literally two weeks or so back, and I worked on the assumption that most people by now have worked out the fact that clicking on the image takes them to the article (I am assuming that is true as I haven't actually tried it in all honesty). Anyway, so far I have received at least four separate notifications saying individuals have 'liked' my Pins, and at least a further two that have 're-pinned' them. I am guessing this is good?
   
   Edit: Just put this to the test and find I am mostly correct, only you need to click once to go to the image, and a second time on that image to go to the article. Seems simple enough and pretty straight forward when you are doing it on screen.
   
   Bearing in mind I only started using it personally so recently, I was curious to check out just how much of my traffic was coming from there in recent times. Without revealing too much I have had well into 3 figure views from there in the last 30 days, and over 5 figure views 'ever'. I am warming to the place

      I'm annotating my articles (I only have two so far) with videos on youtube,  and am back-linking from youtube to the articles.  I have a feeling I'll arrive at some winning model, but until then it looks like I should work on a web tool that instantly glues all my articles to even social medium I can get my hands on.. If I learn how to write a bot, I'll make an article on it, that would really get them coming.

   When I do searches on homey subjects, Pinterest always shows up on the first page. This can be as many as 5 times for one search. Pinterest seems to keep growing in popularity.

   Yeah, I realize I have it lucky being pretty well established before Panda hit. i have other accounts, and one in particular recently made me realize how frustrating it must be for some members. I published two new articles fairly recently that don't have a huge amount of competition and were decently written, if I do say so myself.
   
   Both got featured in an average amount of time and (eventually) got crawled by Google. Neither of them are being indexed on Google whatsoever. Paste the URL into the search bar, nothing but links to older Hubs from months and months ago that managed to get indexed.
   
   Obviously, I guess, we're at a point where it takes some serious effort to pull yourself out of a hole just to get on even ground with Google. I think when the Hubs inevitably get idled I'll repost them on this account and see if it does any better (I'm certain it will).  I've been feeling pretty ambitious this week and really wanted to do a good job of pumping up all my accounts. Now I'm not sure if it is possible.
   
   It is a real lesson how hard it is for some people who didn't luck out three years ago or whatever like some of us. Even though I got blasted hard by Panda, I've inched out of it month by month but I don't know if knew users have that luxury.

   I use minimal text in pins because I want them to funnel to hubs rather than compete with them--and repinning is mostly done by people who are already following my pins, or people who pinned directly from my hubs.

    Well, at least for me Pinterest brings me more views than Twitter and Facebook combined. The other site that does well for me is Scoop.it
