    Good Morning,
Today I find myself two hubs away from my 10th hub, and  I have writers block. I don't know what I want to or should write. Anyone else ever feel that way? Any suggestions to get past the writers block?

      Hello thoughtfulmomof2,
Yes, I have experienced writer's block before when I tried starting a blog. It took me about a week to get over it but I finally did. How'd I do it? I thought of what interested me and went with it. I also did a little research in the idea just to make sure that it was good. I've looked at your profile and you seem to enjoy writing hubs regarding food. What other foods can you think of that you could write about? It doesn't even have to be food, it could be about anything you want. I've written a hub on finding inspiration but it has to do with blogging, not Hubpages. I will leave the link for you so you could look at it. Hey, it might even give you some inspiration.

        TheRaptorClaw,
Thank you for your inspiration and I enjoyed your hub regarding inspiration. It is true I love eating, so must of my hubs include food smile. But sometimes it's nice to write about something different, just don't know what yet. Thank you again!!

A famous and very successful writer once told me something really important about writer's block before: There's no such thing. She said that writers become afraid that what they write will suck. They're afraid because they are reaching new territory with their writing and they want it to be well-written, widely read and successful, but they know that can't always be the case. So they stop writing and call that fear writer's block.

Later when I told her I felt unmotivated, she told me "You're not unmotivated, you're undisciplined."

Both of those things push me to write even when I feel "blocked" or uncreative. I just write, even if it's absolute garbage. I think you just have to write through it. Stream-of-Consciousness-style works well for me when I'm trying to push past that doubt and the lack of creativity or interest it has created. Write garbage until you can write sort-of-okay-garbage. Write sort-of-okay-garbage until it just becomes sort-of-okay and then keep writing.

Have someone give you a subject-- a random subject and force yourself to write a Hub about it, no matter how dull or inane it feels.

      Shanna11,
Wow what an amazing way to look at it, I never thought of it that way, that is absolutely brilliant. I could definitely see how it could be my nerves getting the best of me, because I am afraid to write something crappy. Well I think this advice is so great thank you for sharing it with me. I will keep pushing forward and write until I have something brilliant or semi brilliant. smile
