Diminishing hub score.

   Is anyone else experiencing the same? My hub score is decreasing every day..What could be the reason?

      I am getting it as well.  I was at 94 and now I'm 87.  It looks like every day it drops

         How bad is that.. My individual hub score is very bad too. Could it  be due to very tough competition and less traffic to the hubs?

      Yes, mine has gone down. My understanding it is because they've changed how they evaluate Hubber score; now they take all Hub scores into consideration, together, in considering overall Hubber score. They've made changes in how Hubber score is determined, it's in the blog.

         Right.. So to have good hubber score, all the hubs have to perform well is it?
         The way the score is evaluated has completely changed from what I saw in past 4 months..

            Yes, exactly. If the Hub scores are high, Hubber score will be high. I've been weighing what I want to do. Because even some of my low score hubs do well in terms of traffic; so I'm thinking of leaving them alone. Depends on what happens with my Hubber score.

               Some of my hubs are not at all doing well and are not featured ..Should I delete them?

                  You could edit them and use the guide in the Hub Tool (when you're editing a Hub, in the upper right-hand corner titled "goals" last I looked) to improve the Hub. I've found it does increase the score of a hub. The other option would be to promote the Hub on sites like Pinterest and Twitter; on Twitter I've found that using good hashtags is helpful; hashtags are what you put in a twitter post that has a # in front of it; they're keywords that people will find and search for on twitter; you'll get traffic even outside of your group of followers. Maybe delete them. But I'm slow to delete if I think a Hub has a chance. However, I've read many people say it improves traffic to delete some low-performance Hubs.

   I am seeing this, too.  Used to have a 96, then dropped to 94, then 92, then 90.  Been seeing this over the course of 3-days so far.  Also noticed that traffic to my hubs have been dropping.  And, also noticed that I have more un-featured hubs due to "engagement."

      I know.. Some of my hubs are not doing well.. Reason is less traffic I guess.. Could there be any solution? Thanks..

   I had a hub that had a score of 97, I added a link from it to another one of my hubs and my score immediately dropped.  When I added another link my score dropped again.  Is this bad practice?

      I have never linked any articles to my hubs or back linked any... But I don't think there's any harm in doing so..There must be a solution to this..

      I think it's generally considered okay to interlink Hubs; but it's look down on to post backlinks just to get backlinks to your own website. It's allowed, but they don't want it over done, and I think it can affect Hub score; they want people to develop a readership here at Hubpages, not for the Hubber's own site. However, interlinking hubs I've always thought was considered good practice because it keeps people on your page; and they prefer the links to be in text and not at the bottom of the page by themselves.

               Ah I link a couple at the bottom of the page that are closely related.  I mainly did this in attempt to lower my bounce rate.

                     No, we were talking about Hubs; you can include links in text of hubs to your other relevant hubs. It's not necessary but it's allowed and can make it so visitors stay on your page longer. The main thing is to improve the quality of hubs and there is a guide in the Hub Tool (what you use to edit Hubs) that gives you hints on how to improve your Hubs; the Learning Center also has tutorials on how to make quality Hubs.

      That is weird. Either they participate a lot in forums or they've deleted a bunch of hubs; probably not the deleted a bunch of hubs thing, because that would, eventually, make their score drop.

         But how does it profit HP's in any way to have active forum members with zero hubs. It doesn't really behoove them to reward that person.

            I don't get it either. Don't know why someone would want to start an account and never write a Hub either. It's never made sense to me.
