This is a picture of an advert placed at the bottom of my articles:

    http://s1.hubimg.com/u/8293288_f248.jpg

It is in Spanish and advertises remedies for premature ejaculation and erection problems.

Are you sure that is from HubPages and not from a browser extension you have installed on your computer?  The browser extension that displays the PageRank add-on shows its own ads, for example.

I find that hard to believe Writer Fox, how would HP allow others to place ads on their website?

It may not be from HubPages.  Are you using the Chrome browser when you find this ad?  Do you also find this near the ad:
"This ad is supporting your extension Pagerank."

I definitely would not want to have such ads on my content.

I certainly wouldn't want it on mine either.

I've seen similar provocative ads on other hubs that were not as blatant as that but certainly selling something other than what the author intended. It makes the page look trashy. It seems to have started after the new positioning of ads, the skyscraper, at the top right. I've seen them at the bottom, too.

Is there anyone at HP who has control over this? Surely they must have rules or guidelines for advertisers as to which types of ads are acceptable and non-acceptable on their site? How can we get rid of such junk on our pages? I for one would rule out the scrolling Related Search ads and penis ads on my domain. So really having our own "domains" is but a farce when we have no control over what goes into them.

      Look Writer Fox,

No, there is no note next to the ad.
I do use Chrome and do have an extension for Page Rank.
      BUT
I am a domain owner of other websites. On those domains I have total control over where the ads that are displayed on them come from. Page Rank extension ads, don't barge into them.

Would you post some of the titles of your Hubs which are affected?

I hate when they use my personal pics without my permission. At least my face wasn't on that one.

I think they wanted to use your face but didn't because it has a HubberScore slapped on it.

At least you don't have the big A on there, too, covering up your face.  That always reminds me of the Scarlet Letter!

lol. Less of a badge of honor when you put it that way.
Can you imagine if our greatest failures/sins were plastered over our pics?

              "Procrastinator"
              "Heroine Addict"
              "Bad Kisser"
              "Dumb as a Rock"
              "Likes to burn things."

No one would ever show up online again.

In 2006 when HubPages began, it published porn and adult content.  It had to stop doing that to get venture capital funding.

Not for nothin' but if HubPages WERE a porn site, it would be receiving much more traffic....

as for the advert at hand (d'oh!)... "Problemas de Ereccion" would be a fabulous name for a band.

C'mon people, I don't care who you are, that's funny right there.

Really what an awful ad. This could cause our traffic to go down if these kind of ads are showing up on our hubs. I haven't seen any on mine but will check them.

I have a feeling a lot of our male hubbers instantly checked their pages.
