No date showing up in Google search results

   I've noticed that when I do a Google search that my Hubs show up in the search results without any date.  I just made a change to one of my articles "What is Dave Chappelle Doing These Days".  I made sure that it was re-indexed by Google by doing a fetch in Webmaster Tools.  If I put in the keyword "What is Dave Chappelle Doing" my hub comes up at the top in the search results, but with no date.  If I filter the results to only show articles for the last month, my Hub will not be shown, even though it was updated a couple of days ago.  Has anything changed on Hubpages that would cause the dates on Hubs to be unavailable? Has anyone else noticed this?

      I did the search you described and I see no dates for any of the first 3 search results for that query.
      
      We have no direct control over what search results Google displays.
      If you click the URL for your Hub you can see the last updated date near the copyright notice.

         I always used to see the dates show up on my hubs.  Now I don't see any.  Where does Google pick up the date from when it shows it in the results?

            I don't think there is one answer to that question or at least not one Google has fully disclosed.

   It seems to me that the update date used to be picked up by Google.  Now the original date published seems to be the only date showing.  On the Dave Chappelle article, I filtered it by using a custom date (from 2011 to now), and it showed up with the original published date of August 12, 2012.  If it doesn't pick up the updated date, then when an article is updated, it still appears old.

   I've noticed that Google seems to have dropped putting the update date in the SERPS.  And I'm glad they did, because I was always afraid it helped the scrapers to rank better with the plagiarized copies than we did with our original. Here's why -- If we update a hub after someone already stole it, then our original looks like the copied one.
   
   This is just my guess, but I would not be surprised if Google became aware of this problem and dropped the inclusion of the update date for that reason.
