Iconic legend Lauren Bacall, a lethal combination of beauty and fierce intelligence died yesterday at 89.  According to news reports, Ms. Bacall died of a massive stroke.  Family indicated that although they are sad regarding Ms. Bacall's death, she lived an incredible life.   Ms. Bacall was initially a model then was discovered and shipped to Hollywood at 19.  She starred in To Have and Have Not where she met movie icon Humphrey Bogart.  She went on to star in many movies and also starred in Broadway plays.   She was indeed a legend in our time.  She is survived by her three children and several grandchildren.  Rest in peace, Ms. Bacall for you were the epitome of class and sophistication which is a rarity in Hollywood these days.

A class act. How sad that the female actresses of today to not possess such poise and   eloquence..

They really don't.  Many of them seem to believe that class is an antiquated concept.  They believe that the more vulgar and outlandlish they are, the more they will be seen.

After giving it some thought, there is simply no comparison with women like Bacall and those women of today who hide behind sex in order to  mask their lack of talent. Is vulgarity the new definition for female talent. it would certainly seem so. It is ironic that there is such a clarion call to respect women, when women portray themselves with no self respect,  but then in todays world nothing has to be earned.
Women like Bacall, Hepburn, Day, Kelly and many more epitomized the female mystique and allure and women like Milley (?), Madonna, Hilton, Kardashian degrade and demoralize the very meaning of being a women.

Ms. Bacall was indeed a symbol of the Old Hollywood when actors were STARS.  Ms. Bacall has that magic, that essence that seems to be missing today.

She INDEED WAS.  She also had a fierce intelligence and took no nonsense.  She was extremely self-assured without being arrogant.  She had what one would call........ELAN and CLASS in.....SPADES.
