   Burt Reynolds, the charismatic star of such films as Deliverance, The Longest Yard and Smokey and the Bandit has died. He was 82.

   It has to be him as the Bandit in the Smokey and the Bandit movies! Jerry Reed, Sally Field...Jackie Gleason! The car! So much fun.
   I had a Firebird and my cousin had a Trans Am….we were so cool....just like the Bandit!
   So long Sir! East bound and down, just watch 'ol bandit run!

   I'm shocked and hurt that Burt Reynolds is gone. I don't know why I thought he would be around forever, at least I'd hoped that he would. I think my favorite movie of his was White Lightening because it was shot in my neck of the woods. It also contained one of my favorite scenes EVER: the infamous BARGE scene.
   
   "The scene where Gator lands his Ford Custom 500 on a river barge nearly ended badly. Stuntman Hal Needham landed short, on the edge of the barge, and Burt Reynolds swam out to help him. Although the original plan was for the car to land on the dirt, the footage of the car hanging off the barge was used."
   
   R.I.P. Burt Reynolds, you played our redneck heroes so well. (And so sexy)

      LOVED Burt Reynolds.  Exemplified pure, unadulterated MASCULINITY.  Burt Reynolds was MASCULINITY at its FINEST.
