Where can I find great media pics that don't violate HP's TOS?

Over at Squidoo, I was able to post pictures of movie stars and movies by using AllPosters.com affiliate links. Obviously, I can't do this at HP because of the links limit. I've tried looking over at Wikimedia Commons, but it doesn't always have what I want. What do you guys do?

Try Flickr.  Also, check Amazon and eBay for posters.

I'd just caution being a bit careful with Flickr - there are a lot of media images posted there as "public domain" or Creative Commons that clearly aren't, it's just people who don't understand the way copyright works uploading their favorite celebrity shots and images in a personal account.

One thing to do is see the images are part of a Flickr album that show that clearly they are posted by the person who took the pictures (ie, a set of concert photos from the same point-of-view/audience position). And, if you see what appears to be a legitimate image, even if the photographer says "all rights reserved", you can always send a message to ask his/her permission to use with credit. Sometimes you'll find people are very generous in doing so, happy to share their work provided their credit is not lost (I've had success with some musician/concert photos that way.)

You CAN use AllPosters on HP to a limited extent - just upload the poster image in a Photo capsule and use the source link for your affiliate link (or put in a text capsule immediately beneath the image). And there will be a 2 link/image limit per hub for that.

Of course, I just got notice from AllPosters 2 days ago that my state of residence is no longer eligible to be part of their affiliate program sad So yeah, I'm scrambling to find good alternatives for a bunch of my hubs now...

Thanks for the heads up re: Flickr, sockii. I'll definitely double check the usage before using any pic.

Sorry about the troubles you're having with AllPosters. That definitely sucks. I hope things get sorted out.

You could use two Allposters links in each Hub (use the image from Allposters, then put your affiliate link in the "source" box for the image).

You could also check for products on Amazon related to those stars - DVD's etc.   If you advertise a product in an Amazon capsule, you can also include a full size image of the product.

Sometimes I use corbisIMAGES and credit them in the source line.

Another thing that you can do is to take a picture of the movie cd or a magazine picture and post that so long as it is obvious that it is that ITEM and not a close up so that you are stealing someone else's pictures.

I have done this when I cannot find suitable copyright free images elsewhere.
