HP doesn't recognize Nikon D5000 cameras

I wanted to add the Nikon D5000 camera I was mentioning in one of my photography hubs into an amazon capsule, but when I paste the asin of the product, the capsule keeps telling me it doesn't find the product. This happened to all the D5000 cameras available on Amazon and they are not from third party sellers.

So at last I entered the asin of one of those combined sales and that went ok, but it's not the Nikon D5000 I wanted.

Titia, I've found I have to open amazon and do my own Amazon search, when the product doesn't come up on HP search. Also, as you know, even the Amazon search will say a product is no longer available. But in your case, I'd try my own search for the item, before settling for something else.

Hi Nancy, I never use the HP search, I always search for the items I want on Amazon and then copy/paste the asin. All four Nikon D5000 cameras are available. Try this asin B00267S7TQ  or this one B0026FCKA0 yourself and you will see the capsule will say 'not found' and that goes for all 4 sole Nikon D5000 cameras. Even the url's don't work.

Edit to add: I see that the Zero is set to the letter o in here. Not as I type it, but after I submit it, strange.

Titia, I just typed in Nikon D5000 in the Amazon search bar, and brought up every model, but the information on those say there is a newer model under this B00FY3T3TM. I wish I could help.

As @Corrinna-Johnson mentioned, it is likely an excluded item.
I did a few tests using this code B00267S7TQ and did not get product results either for that camera in the Amazon product capsule.

I found this little snippet about exclusions (related to the API).
      https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp … exclusions

I get a feeling that this may not be a list they share publicly and that is updated frequently.

That's a tech issue in Amazon's API feed.  Any errors in retrieving the product info gives that result on this end.

Does that mean I can't show a Nikon D5000 camera in my hub?

Sounds like it could possibly be an excluded product. There are certain products that are not available for affiliates to promote. Newer cameras and other electronics are often on these lists.
