Not sure if I have the correct space or not. I was wondering if Hubpages uses another payment source/method other than PayPal. Some (man people actually) for one reason or a dozen do not like PayPal. I for one would like to get paid from my hubs but PayPal is blocking me because I will not submit a "proper" photo ID. Now I dont know what is proper in their eyes since they refuse to accept my State Issued Drivers License and they refuse to answer question in order to resolve the issue. So an alternative would be nice, otherwise I will have to just shut my hubs down and move on. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
They do not, and HubPages has also made it clear they do not anticipate ever adding any other option.
I was amazed to read about Paypal asking for photo ID. I've been here for over six years and have never heard of anyone being asked for photo ID. I did some Googling and found that yes, it does happen occasionally - and in typical high-handed fashion, Paypal will never explain why. I'm sorry it's happened to you.
I have to say it's unlikely HubPages will ever offer alternative payment methods. Think of it from their point of view: right now they can pay all of us in one transaction every month. If they're going to offer an alternative, it's going to cost them extra in administration - will they make extra profit to offset that cost? No, because the vast majority of people in the English-speaking world can use Paypal, so it's not going to open the doors to a significant number of new writers.
Why don't you open n online credit card account at entropay and then use that credit card to verify your PayPal account.
Interesting, but I already have "real" credit cards and those statements seem to be enough to verify my address. However, Im not sure how another credit card would satisfy their ID requirements.
because they think that once you have a credit card you must have gone through some sort of verification process. So no need go through their ID process
Using a credit card for ID is not acceptable to Pay Pal. It must be a picture ID and for whatever reason they are being piss ants and saying that my state issued drivers license is not acceptable. At this point Im just ready to tell Pay Pall to eff off. If they wont communicate then how can I fullfill their request. If Hub Pages refuses to use an alternate pay system, I will just move on. I will not pull my hair out over this.
I have never heard of PayPal asking for a photo ID unless they really felt there was some sort of problem verifying who the user was.
Your profile here indicates you are in New Hampshire. The media company you say you own appears to be located in Texas. Your LinkedIn profile says you are in the Greater Boston area.
I think it's those sorts of details that are giving PayPal pause, and asking you for more stringent verification so they can tell who you really are.
I have been asked, years ago, for a photo ID on my business account with PayPal due to simply receiving a large order and deposit. So.... I think that validates the claim, lol.
My company has been in NH since 2006. And the name is not exclusive to me unfortunately, since I am only a NH registered corp. The other issue, I have found out from my state, is that you cannot ask for photo ID on a corp because its a corp. You would have to ask for ID for every share holder. Being the president doesnt identify the corp. The problem is PayPal knows this and thumbs its nose up at various state laws and regulations on a regular basis. However, they are no longer the elephant in the room and when companies like Hubpages finally understand this, PayPal will begin to make changes. I have already signed up for two alt payment methods. Not that I have been a big contributor here on HP but they are ensuring that I and many others do not contribute anymore by not having an alt. payment method. Hell, there are major sites that still offer to mail you a check as an alt payment method.
So did you register with Paypal using your company or as an individual? Perhaps that's one reason why so few of us have had this problem, because the vast majority of Hubbers would register as individuals.
I've had my PP account for well over 4 years, and was never asked for a photo ID at any point. Linking a bank account was sufficient "verification."
I have no idea what's up with this new trick.
This is NOT new, as mentioned above. I have been there and done it years ago. It may just be surfacing here. It has nothing to do with being verified, having a bank account associated with your account, etc. It is a whim and a hit and miss thing with PayPal. Never, ever, get too comfortable with PayPal. It is good, it is needed, but they will challenge you in order to "protect you", lol. They have froze my account on two occasions until I provided photo ID and more at times. Again, this can be from simply having a few hundred dollars move through your account for several years, then get a buy for several thousand dollars, and whamo.....freeze the account. Has happened...nothing to do with what ya'll be talking about....never heard of....new....etc.

Read the link and notice the dollar amount.
When the total transaction amount (send and receive) of your PayPal account is reaching SGD7,500, PayPal will send you a request to submit a copy of your identification documents.
What is the SGD7,500? Is this applicable in North America?
It's really important to read the PayPal rules for the country in which you reside, as they can be quite specific, and they differ.
According to the above, that would be instructions for those receiving payment in Sudan, as SGD is the currency abbreviation for the Sudanese pound.
Apparently SGD7,500 = about $1,300 USD. That's gonna take a while to rack up here.

Humbly, I want to ask this, I as a hubber have great passion for writing, I want to publish articles on hubpages and I want to earn from them, but the problem is that I don't have a credit card or any bank account, as far as I'm concerned, I don't have the ability to use PayPal. Why not add...

Paypal is becoming problematic these days. I would be happy if HubPages would consider offering alternative payment methods other than paypal also. I am sure that there are many like me who would be happy if we get to choose from other payment modes also.

I'm not kidding. I'm already in my sunset and I mean business. I need honest-to-goodness answers. I'm really confused. Can I open more than one pay pal account? Is the pay pal account not enough without a credit card? Can one of these documents mot stand without...

I would hate to not be able to participate in hubpages any longer, but paypal is beyond ridiculous now with their spying and thinking they can just take $25,000 out of people’s checking accounts because they don’t like/agree with what people post online (NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS PAYPAL) and I need to...
