Hey people. I'm an old-timer round here and I have a beef / suggestion
I have 207 hubs most written between 08-11 and they are mostly in the 50,000 views. Some hits, many clunkers. My issue is simply this, if you are gonna change your product selling policy and want only 1 ad per 100 words then YOU REMOVE THEM!. Why the hell should I spend another day polishing these hubs when HubPages wants to limit the ways in which I make money from the Hubs?
Think about it. It's your issue, you deal with it. Not to be a jerk but you are the one making the issue, you fix it. Since you got the time to count words.....
There should be an opt in for Hubpages to manually adjust to their own specs.
If you opt-in to HubPro, and HubPages decides your pages are worth it, that's exactly what they do.
relache, you still kickin around too? What my dear is HubPro?
HubPro is something that does just what you were griping about, which you will have been opted into since you have no idea what it is, and therefore have not opted-out, and which a bunch of people are about to show up and tell you to avoid like the plague even though they've not done it.
Given how HubPages is going these days, it's kinda of amazing that's a genuinely accurate answer.
Curious if you'd mind expanding on the whole "way HubPages is going these days". Haven't been around in forever. Still in touch with my favorite hubbers but thru facebook. Is The Hub doing well these days?
HP will remove them -- by unpublishing the offending hubs. Problem solved.
+1 My thoughts exactly. HP will do the job, but the hubber may not like the result.
Hmmm, so you saying that rather than delete the offending amazon ad/broken link HubPages would be more inclined to unpublish your work? That seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face on their part, no? Why would they do that? I miss Maddie Ruud. Whenever The Hub was buggin me about something, she would always work it out for me.
I agree. If they think amazon ads are holding them back, why not just remove them for good? They can easily define preset ad positions for each hub and every user should be able to place a number of ads based on how long his hub is.
Not that it matters, if you ask me. We all saw what happened to squidoo and there is no reason to belief HP would avoid the same tragic fate.
Off topic, I still fail to understand why would someone with the capacity to write 200+ articles would not set up his own darn site and write by his own rules, making a lot more money in the process...
Alas the reason i'm back. under construction

I just finished editing the 212 hubs on this account, with another 100 or so on other accounts to be done tomorrow.I have:-Removed all RSS feeds (bar hubmob).-Removed all news capsules.-Removed all Amazon capsules excluding sales hubs and some rare exceptions.-Have nothing that should trigger...

Authoring Hubs is about sharing and spreading ideas. Most of what we do is word-based, and a capsule to show off related Zazzle stuff would be an eye-catching way to allow readers interested in those ideas to buy products which celebrate them, such as relevant designs, graphics, statements,...

I had a couple hubs about gifts which was already published and accepted months ago. Now these hubs have became an issue due to new HP changes. I had individual amazon capsule (one product each) total 6 with big write up. Totaly words for the over 1000 words.I took out the all amazon capsules and...

This has got to be some sort of joke. This site is not an easy place to make a fast buck. I knew that when I started. I then did the apprenticeship. It hasn't done me one iota of good. I have written well over 70 hubs, some of which were HOTD. My earnings in the last week are [redacted] ...
