Yes, humankind is becoming more educated, aware, & evolved as a species.   Congruent with these components is liberalism, even progressivism.  Conservatives, reactionaries, & other retrogressives are becoming fewer & fewer, even totally out of place in this postmodern era.   Yes, liberalism & progressivism has its negatives but it is mostly positive.   Humans are becoming less exclusive & more inclusive.  There is a widening & less marginalization of groups considered to be so-called others & outsiders.   Why do conservatives, reactionaries, & retrogressives want to go back to a "better era" in  American history?  What are they.....FEARFUL.....OF?

Wow , you seem grossly misinformed GM.  Let me give you a lesson on conservatives and conservatism . All that you mentioned above are acts of liberalisms everywhere !    Conservative by nature is about maintaining "the same ", smaller government , more constitutional liberties , less central government , more states rights , local controls ,  lower taxes .

But obviously  you want the nanny state that you are voting for ,  Liberals are never the ones to" take it all back" either , in the revolution , that is always left to conservatives to clean up the political messes .!

The retrogressive is actually the liberal socialist ,  which   Is actually evident right now in one of your liberal strongholds ; Venezuela ! Four hours  to get a bag of corn , rice and beans from the nanny state -government while  soldiers look on and point rifles at children and women .

I'm considered a conservative and I think a'better era' is a figment of the imagination. This is probably the best era so far, in our inclusiveness as a nation. I think, though, that conservative ideas of fiscal responsibility, budget balancing and not running the national debt so high that future generations are buried in debt is not a bad stance.

Outside of the idea of fiscal responsibility that conservatives say is their linchpin, their retrograde attitude leaves nothing to redeem them. Obviously, the GOP are not true conservatives, they complain about run away spending unless it involves the military or tax break based largess to their constituencies.

The insular, xenophobic, anti-intellectual attitude is fit only for the trailer park and the cemetery  not for those that must reach for and embrace the future.

Their free-market without government oversight basically denies the value of regulation in an ever more complex world.

There is more, but it is late....

Do you all know that the consciousness calibration of Liberalism is 350 while Conservatism is calibrated at 190.  According to the late Dr. Hawkins, any calibration above 200 is viewed as truthful & positive while any calibration below 200 is viewed as a falsehood & negative.

Spoken like a true pseudo intellectual ; To liberals ,   Note of caution ,  remember that  this election like no other and  that it was your choice  for the  future  and that choices at the most critical  of times  are far, far  more important than the entitlements you seek ,

Liberals will live to regret this election -no matter the outcome . They will sorely lose or they will gain  a mirror to look into for the rest of your children's lives !

Conservatives also told me that I would regret the election of Barack Obama, as well. Regardless, the sky did not fall and we are better off than we were 8 years ago.

WHO"S better off ?  Seriously you cannot argue with the numbers -  If the unemployed number is always under 5 % as THEY claim ;Why is Hilary promoting     " All the new jobs we need "- like a bad republican dinosaur dream ?

Why have a hundred million people DROPPED out of the work force roles?

Pull the wool over  your eye's and swig some more cool-aid Credence , you obviously are addicted ..

I will have to check this out, Grace, thanks. This is unexpected, I once thought that you did not think much of liberals?

I would consider myself to be liberal on social issues such as women's rights(I am a feminist), being staunchly pro-choice, the rights of the LGBT community, & the equalization & broadening of gender roles however I am fiscally conservative- believing that people should do for selves.    I am a traditional Liberal but not to the Left as many modern Liberals are.   Yes, I am a Democrat.

Credence2, if you read my profile- it states WHO I AM & what I staunchly & thoroughly believe.  To digress, according to Dr. Hawkins' calibrations, religion fundamentalists calibrate around 140.
