With its ranking, It simply tells me that if this article is on one of the vertical sites, it could have generated much more traffic. However, I'm still finding it difficult to figure out why it is ranking better than the one below.
In fact, on my mobile device, it is #1 in big G for that search term "best retirement speech for boss" while that on vertical site is #6
Your results may be skewed if you are logged into to Google because it bases results on your own browsing and search history. Try using a search engine called StartPage which uses the Google algorithm but is 'neutral'. When I use that, the Toughnickel site comes out above the HubPages one.
Try that on a mobile device and let's have the result.
I don't use StartPage on a mobile device. Sorry.
Ok. But you can do that on Google search engine.
Don't know. Can't be bothered to get up and get my tablet or phone.
Yeah, a lot of my pages here on the main site are actually doing really well.
There's one of my articles on the main site now getting 150 views (on average) per day.

I have a fairly old article which doesn't rank for the first four words from it's title in the first 130 SERP results ("What causes electric shocks"), however there are no other articles with those words at the beginning of the title. Ubersuggest says that there's low competition for the...

I have read many forums over the last couple of months on how traffic to HubPages has dropped considerably since July. After much investigation I believe to have figured out what has caused this drop (and I don't think it was the algorithm change).I keep statistics on my keyword performance for...
