So, I've been writing on HubPages well over a year. All of a sudden -- with no violations of TOS, etc. -- I have been unable to immediately post and my pieces aren't being published! It all started a few articles ago, when I was notified that if I edited a piece, it would have to be submitted for approval. That's weird! I was just correcting something! Then, pieces were going up in a few minutes. Annoying, but I didn't take the time to investigate. Now it's been 2 days! I didn't do anything wrong. I haven't been featured in months. On another forum, someone suggested that maybe it's a tech glitch. Powers that be, can you take me out of purgatory?
All hubs have to go through QAP. Similarly, any edits to hubs are moderated, although I share your irritation with this, especially for minor alterations.
As Rupert has indicated, I was similarly intrigued by your low hubber score. I had a look at a few of your hubs and they all seem to be reviews. May I ask if you are being paid to write these and provide back links to these sites? If so, this may be an issue, Furthermore, the handful of hubs I looked at, seemed rather short. I would be inclined to check out the guidance here: Elements of a Stellar Article.
Hope this helps!
I have noticed that your hubs that I have looked at are very short. And, as Rupert Taylor noted, your hubberscore is extremely low. Apparently they have flagged you for some reason.
Aha, now I understand. It's possible you're on a watch list.
As you mentioned, you've had several Hubs unFeatured for "spammy elements" (links). That has raised a red flag with the moderators - they don't want you to keep on publishing more Hubs with the same problem. So they want to check them personally before they're published.
I must say, I didn't think the watch lists still existed, so I could be wrong - but it certainly sounds like what used to happen. The best way to handle this is to send an email to team @ hubpages.com and ask them..
I suggest you contact admin directly; they don't always monitor these forums. I see your Hub Score is 2!. We're told to take no notice of the Hub Score, but 2?
All the titles of your articles sound like ad copy. I only read the first article on your list so I can't comment on more than that one, but the entire article read like ad copy.
This could be the problem, especially if all your articles have a similar advertisement-type format.
Review hubs should cover both the pros and cons (be honest) of the product, and compare them to other similar products a person might be considering before making a choice as a consumer. Explain how coffee pot model 1 from brand A is different from the same brand's coffee pot model 2. Also, explain how this coffee pot compares to popular or similar models from brands B, C, and D.
Think in terms of homemaker magazine article rather than a paid advertisement.
Frankly, I'm surprised the coffee pot article was published.
Soooo . . . I imagine I will be banned in short order from Hubpages. Because I have been treated so shabbily by the admins, I got my butt in gear and started my own page. All my articles are going there. I never earned a penny off HP, but am a well-established writer and editor. There are too many demands -- the type that most writers get $500-$1000 an article for. There's no direct way of talking to an admin (I guess, unless, you pour in 3 more years of your life than I did). BTW, the admins have no clue as to what readers actually read off the 'net. It ain't War & Peace. Ciao.
No, you won't be banned. And it's not reasonable to say you've been treated shabbily - you broke some rules and they applied the normal response to that situation, it's nothing personal.
To speak to an admin, all you have to do is email team @ Hubpages.com. The office is not open on the weekends.
I don't think the demands are onerous compared to the potential rewards. Some of my Hubs have earned hundreds of dollars in their lifetime, that's the point.
I have a Hub on the Basic Rules which includes all the rules in one article. The only other requirement, really, is to ensure you write with a personal slant on your subjects.
You have misunderstood what HubPages is about. It's not a review site, although reviews are okay, if they are presented as balanced and thoughtful articles. Yours look as though you have been paid to write them ("I was hosted..."). They are nothing but advertorials, and are obviously so to any reader. Not sure why you don't understand that is not acceptable?

Can someone tell me what is the 'hub score' please? It seems to have no relevance to the number of page views on my hubs. Thanks!yellowbutterfly

We've been telling each other for years that our Hubber scores are not important. We were wrong. From HubPages Weekly:"""Congrats, Your Article Is Featured! Now, Here’s How To Keep It That Way...So, your article needs to have some search traffic to stay Featured. The amount of...

To satisfy my own curiosity, I would like to know why one of the hubs that was transferred from Squidoo, has such a low "hub score". I have gone over it with a fine-toothed comb, and cannot figure it out. It currently has 11,945 words, many photos, and is - in my opinion - informative....

My hub score sometimes goes up to 80 and sometime it goes below 75. What is safest hub score? I am planning to publish lot of hubs but afraid a bit if my account got banned? What would be the reason behind that?

Hello guys!I just started HubPages less than a month ago so I'm fairly new and might not understand the way HubScore works like you do.I have published 5 hubs and I published my 5th hub yesterday. My fifth hub is called "Everything You Wanted to Know About Whole Grains", by the way. I...

I got like 10 posts stuck in the mid 70's that I want to get to 80 so I can submit them to networks. What are some surefire ways to increase your score without changing everything? I use the same format on two hubs with similar subjects and one gets 93 and the other gets 77...so frustrating.
