I got like 10 posts stuck in the mid 70's that I want to get to 80 so I can submit them to networks. What are some surefire ways to increase your score without changing everything? I use the same format on two hubs with similar subjects and one gets 93 and the other gets 77...so frustrating.
No expert here! First, from my experience it is a task to get a score established by the QAP process to go up/down very much from that point. Through observation I see mine moving within a +/- 5 points. Remember that is my personal experience. What would affect a score changing is subsequent crawls maybe inching the score upward or downward.
Once upon a time our scores were established by automatic crawl and a real person reading the article facilitating Amazon Mechanical Turk. I don't know if they do that today or not.
Anyway, the guide used by the Amazon Mechanical Turk readers/graders is at the following like. Take a peek.
Informational Writing Scale
https://hubpages.com/help/hub_hop_table#informational
How I viewed it was instead of being 0 - 10, I thought of it as 0 - 100. In other words, seek 8 for a hubScore of 80+.
Thanks, kinda feel like I'm at an 8 already but it's great to have a chart.
Honestly, I wouldn't overthink the Hub scores. Some of my most successful hubs are my lowest scoring. By the same token, hardly anyone has read my highest scoring hub.
You could spend ages trying to tweak your posts to please some mysterious algorithm. But you'd probably be better investing that time writing what you personally think your reader will enjoy.
Happy writing in any case! :-)
I'm quite sure the hub score doesn't work this way. Whenever I publish a new hub, it's in the 70s range. Once it's transferred to a niche site, the score goes up to the higher 80s to 90s range. So it would seem the score is calculated based on the location of the hub rather than used as a measure.
The score is not an indication of good earnings/traffic too. I have hubs with near perfect score and they barely perform. All of my best earners are also in the 80s range.
I'm reasonably sure that if any of us knew of a "surefire" way of increasing our hub score we would keep it to ourselves.
The fact is that the hub score is a mystery number that even HubPages doesn't know how its calculated.
Even Hubpages? What was the algorithm found on the back of the 10 commandments? Haha .
I feel like polls usually help. You got way more hubs than me so you got some tips lol. Do you keep your word count to 1250? How Many Links do You Include? lol
I found the hubscore of my hubs correlates very poorly with their traffic or earning rate. So I honestly pay very little attention to it.
Hubscore won't really matter when an article is transferred to a network site. There is no such thing as, you'll need a hubscore of 80 or 90 to move an article in a network site for example. You can have an article with an hubscore of 73, for example, and it'll be in a network site.
Is this always the case? All my articles seem to get invited once they hit 80 almost within days.
Eh what? One of my hubs I wrote during the burial ceremony of late Queen Elizabeth 11 of England, was scored 60. And it was moved to a network site. A hubscore of 70 is not a yard stick.
O really, I swore you couldn't even submit it without an 80. I must be wrong then.
Hubpages, moved it up to LetterPile. Not I.
I didn't look at that. I have a lot of hubs on network sites and a lot that are not. Regardless of that, my top-earning hubs have low hubscores.
I've posted this before and it's never been refuted by the powers that be.
To get your Hubscore you start with your shoe size. This is multiplied by the last three digits of your social insurance number. Then, the diameter of a randomly selected rutabaga in millimetres is deducted. Now comes the tricky bit; the number you have is divided by the square root of X and nobody, not even HubPages, knows what the value of X is. QED
As to article length, I limit it to the number of words it takes to tell the story completely. Sometimes it take 900 words, occasionally more than 2,000.
I prefer increase in revenue number instead of Profilescore or article score.
Everyone does. But it's a mirage these days.
From what I see in the scores, those who are 92 and up make decent money, 95 and up do well, and 98 and up do very well. Many 95s and above do not or rarely post on the forum. I suggest perusing their articles and seeing what they are doing because they are doing something right.
Just to illustrate, my hub with the highest earnings by far is HS 75 - it earns a lot from Amazon
My top 10 by traffic in the last month are 75* 66 69* 57 73 84* 73* 60 56 74 85*
The asterisked ones are on network sites

My hub scores range from 65 to 87 as of the last time I looked. My average is 73. To me it seems like I have a "C" average. I'm disappointed and discouraged. I am doing everything that is recommend to get a good score. It is disheartening not to get a feedback. For...

Can someone tell me what is the 'hub score' please? It seems to have no relevance to the number of page views on my hubs. Thanks!yellowbutterfly

I've heard to disregard that but I'm still a little curious. Honestly I don't know how the score is even decided but those of you that have a lot of followers or have been able to make money, what is your average score per article?Thank you!

Hi--me again.. I was reading that there is a 'nofollow' generated on hubs with scores of 50 or under, so I've un-published all of mine that were down in that range. The result is that my total hub count is now way down, so that instead of 10 more hubs to 100, I've now got to...

Hello guys!I just started HubPages less than a month ago so I'm fairly new and might not understand the way HubScore works like you do.I have published 5 hubs and I published my 5th hub yesterday. My fifth hub is called "Everything You Wanted to Know About Whole Grains", by the way. I...

Pretty much without exception my Hub score will drop two, three or more points within an hour or two of first posting a Hub. Then it gradually, eventually goes up again. For example, today, March 31, 2011, I posted a Hub and my score dropped like a rock three points. I don't understand this. I...
