I am seriously ****** when it comes to Ford. Their service is terrible, their safety issues aren't being addressed. I am mad!!!!!!!!! errrr.
Funny to see this posted, my uncles Expedition caught fire today while they were inside a restaurant. Not running or anything - it caught fire and he just had it serviced 10 days before for a recall. He was set to make a 5 hour drive the next morning!
I quit dealing with them years ago. I am extremely satisfied with my Hyundai Elantra. 100k + miles with nothing but routine maintenance.
I hate Fords, I have had a Ford Escort and a Ford Fiesta and they had one thing in common, they were both a pile of shit that each cost me a fortune !
I like Ford's line of vehicles. I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with service though. It is probably only the dealership. Try speaking with the manager, then try to go higher. Sometimes that works.
Fix Or Repair Daily was the old joke.
I had a Ford Escort for years though and really liked it. Bill's Ford truck breaks down every other time he starts it.
It's not like GM is any better. Right now we have a 2010 Honda Insight and a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant and they're both great. The Galant has 130,000 miles on it and runs like a brand new car.
Seriously though, I hate cars in general. I'd walk everywhere if I could.
No,no no Pam, walking everywhere and lugging groceries is a pain in the bum,but sure makes us grab less off the shelves, or be mindless of weight.
No I know what you mean though walking for pleasure or short distances is fine.
We have 4 more payments ,then we have a car!!!-Monte Carlo (used, but looks great),been 6 mths without a car, and a crappy bus system.
Route 66 here we come ,lol
Alrighty then
Wanna see ,wanna do,
Like those families in that reality show??
They all have RV'S n man thats be fun ,plus reckon Id beat the Cootes n take the loot ( I wish)
Yeah, that episode was funny. They took some serious detours from 66, but Sedona is worth the trip.
I've been car-less and it does suck, but it didn't used to. When I was growing up there were little markets every couple of blocks and no supermarkets yet, so nobody drove to the store. I miss that. The world is way less walker-friendly now. We have bike trails here but a cyclist gets killed a couple times a year. People in cars can be total dicks. Run somebody over or off the road just because. It's disgusting.
It goes beyond just service. It's about a defective part that seriously needs to be recalled but they wont do it.
But just to vent, today after they brought my truck out to me for the 3rd power window regulator failure... it had a friggin scratch on it. A big one down the side of the door they were working on.
Then the service manager tried to tell me that it was probably from a branch or bush.
I was like um HELL NO! That was not there when I got here. Anyways, then two weeks ago when I was in getting the same freaking repair on another window...
They didn't bother to ask me if I wanted my truck washed. The day before I had it washed, waxed and I spent 3 hours polishing the rims... they gave it back to me with water spots, dirt marks etc... but mostly I was upset because my wheels that I spent so much time on were dirty again!
Do you know how much maintenance it is to keep chrome in good condition?
Wait. Surely you jest. These are American made cars by American unions. They can't make defective parts and install them in cars that people *gasp* don't want to buy. Better watch it. Rhetoric against our Great Leader like that will get you reported. Surely our Glorious Leader didn't make a mistake when he gave the auto industry that much money. Surely they're using our money to meet every want and need of their customers. I mean next time they're in trouble, our politicians will surely tell them no.
(Sorry, couldn't resist)
Never had a problem with fords, I have a focus currently.
I have a Ford and I absolutely love it. It is a 2001, I've done some of the maintenance on it myself because a downfall of Ford is the service department at the dealership. I had a very bad experience with them once and refuse to trust them again. Since I've replaced small parts and done oil changes/filter changes on my own. I understand your frustration Sandra
LOL Your Majesty, I wish this to be your biggest disappointment for the time to come.
And congratulations on your new vehicle, I did not know you got one.

What things for a car do you often overlook in terms of routine maintenance?
