After being educated by reading some hubs,I realize my predicament. I have been writing hubs without photos,links- in other words the tools. After 56 hubs I am preparing to write one of the ideas I have outlined for a hub. But I want to experiment with a hub which improved today and has kept a stable score. Although I ordered the hub to have text then photos, it ended up as photos then text.I had to shut down so I left it.However after reading about toggling width and breaking up the text,I want to try it. Do I have to reload the photos and delete the present photo capsule so that the photos will be alongside the text capsule rather than arranged the way they are now? I have other questions but I will wait.
You can move the photo capsule. And click on Toggle Width and it'll move it over to the right.
Give it a shot. You don't need to delete them and add new capsules and reupload all your stuff.
Read darkside's hub about it
I learned all about using capsules and improving layouts with it.
Thank you, darkside!
I have read Darkside's hub. That is how I know about toggle. But I am a dummy, I must confess, because although I went back to the hub this morning, I cannot find the word toggle nor where to toggle. I missed something. For a long time I thought I was a visual learner; but I must have a learning disability too.Seriously.
The green horizontal arrows at the top of certain capsules allow you to toggle the width of the capsule.
The vertical arrows allow you to move the capsule up or down.
I found that out by clicking on them. I'm the sort of person who never reads the instruction manual. I just play around with things and see what they do. Sometimes playing with things is the best way to learn.
I agree, one of the best way to learn fast is to play around with. Just press all the buttons you see one by one and see what happens.
There is no "toggle" key.
In edit mode of your hub (not the capsule), click the right arrow button, then try one of the following:
1. press up or down, to place the capsule where you want it
or
2. Go to the capsules list (upper right hand corner where you see the order of your capsules in edit mode, right under the tags list and "capsule ordering". You can drag the rectangles to where you want it to be placed and press "reorder now"
Hope this helps.
Thanks to all of you who pointed out how simple it is to toggle. I lost a part of my hub while toggling, even though I saved it.When I recovered the draft I had to try to recall what I had written. Maybe it came out better- or worse. I had to delete a lot of capsules that got in my way- particularly the photo ones. EBay appeared and I was about to delete that when I was asked if I really wanted to do it. I didn't; so I will wait to see what happens.
Well, I explored the idea of toggle, did not achieve my goal, spent a lot of time toggling or trying to; but I have no regret. I have about 54 more hubs on which I can practice!Maybe I will be able to discover where I went wrong and correct my mistakes during the practice. Thanks again.

One or two of my hubs have fallen victim to the "does not meet quality standards" empty bubble. In one case, I imagine it is because the hub falls under the "purely personal" category, better suited to a blog. That's fine. I can move it. (It's an older hub...

It seems the News Capsule is now out of favour. That's a bummer, because over the last couple of years, it's been recommended as a great thing to add your Hubs to keep the content "fresh".As a result, I (and many other Hubbers) have a News capsule on every @##$%^& Hub. That means...

I am almost ready to publish a new article, and I want to add two Amazon Capsules. I know how to do it the old way. But I saw on lobobrandon and a few other's hubs a different way. There is just an orange "A" and what looks like a hyperlink, and when clicked, it takes the reader right to...

http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/stats?categ … ule=AmazonFolks, we really need to make a concerted effort to delete (or at least not display) those Amazon capsules we know to be in violation of QAP.The above link will hopefully help.

I went into one of my older hubs to add a photo and got this message:"It looks like some images in this capsule appear to be reduced in size. Note that saving any changes made to this capsule will update the size of these images to fit the capsule."After adding a new photo, all the...

I don't know if this has been brought up in the past, but I would LOVE to be able to place some of the capsules in the center side of some of the text blocks! It isn't always a nice layout to have them all default to the top. It would be so lovely to drag-and-drop them along the right...
