I tried using this RSS url in a new hub I wrote but it says its not a valid RSS...
    feed://hubpages.com/search/include:hubs+mp3+players?rss

Now I know I do not quite get RSS yet but I found the URL when doing a search for mp3 players, I clicked the RSS thingy in the url box and it turned into what I think looks like the RSS feed for that page. I am wondering if by just copying and pasting the URL after clicking the RSS button in the url box is not enough, is it not formatted correctly or something?

So I thought I would try a different rss feed on the topic, found one off the net and tried it. Got the same message about it not being a valid rss feed? What am I doing wrong?

I am glad that I am not the only one that has trouble with rss.
This is a helpful hub that could help you understand it better.

To get the feed url I usually have to open the RSS feed page itself then copy the url and paste it into the appropriate RSS capsule smile hope that helps.

Dame Scribe, this is exactly what I was doing and in the rss capsule on my hub it said that it was not a valid rss feed. I got to doing a little reading and the 4th hub on rss I read this morning actually had the solution. In it the hubber suggested that you take the straight url (not the rss one you get when you click the rss button in the url box) and add ?rss at the end of that url, I tried it and bingo it worked! Left some lovely feedback for that awesome hubber and if you want to read a bit on using rss from simple to advanced I recommend this hub

It really cleared up my problem!

Now a hub I created comparing 2 mp3 players has an rss feed for the keyword mp3 players for all hubs written on hubpages on that keyword. Much more relevant then using an author rss.

Interesting that you're using an RSS feed from HubPages itself, I didn't know that was available!

Whenever I need an RSS feed I go to http://news.yahoo.com, scroll down to the middle of the page, put your keywords in the "Create Your Own RSS Feed" field, click the Search button and then copy the URL of the page it sends you to.
