What is your secret besides writing good hubs? How could one get so many fans? Does my duplicate hub hurt my score? It was written by me but they said that because I posted somewhere wlse, it will show as a duplicate. Advice please:)

        I think people overlook that.

They want a hundred fans within a week.

How does one get 100 score?

By not fixating on getting a 100 score.

Is that so? I hope so because I love to write, but fear I will be investing alot of time uselessly if I don't find the golden "key."
so if I just write whatever I want to write it will slowly grow?? The scores will come up?
It is kinda confusing to me.
Still... i like being here. alot, actually. :-)

I have a hub on HubScore. That will have just about all the information you'll need to know how it works.

We can all speculate. but no one outside of HubPages HQ will truly know how it works.

Just concentrate on your writing. Publishing good quality original hubs. HubScore is just a side effect. If you do all the right things and get traffic, it will rise. It's not something you need in order to be successful. Someone finding you via a search engine doesn't care whether you've got 80 or 100 as a HubScore. If you've got the information they're looking for, they're happy. They might bookmark it, they might send the link to friends. And of course there could be an ad which grabs their interest and they click through. And that's where the money is.

Or it might be interesting and orginal and not some text book cut and paste.

as for the dublicate, try to change it enough so the dublicate label goes away, i also publish on more sites as this, so i change about 30% of the text, for each directory i post in, when you do that, no more dublicate content flags anymore.

and yes, dublicate content somehow affects your score

also be active in the forum like you already are, give good advise, help people out, you will get more fans automaticly
    and again your score rises.

as for the fans it still is somewhat of a riddle to me, how some people get 100's of fans in a few weeks or months.

Thanks for the advice. I agreed on the fan comment. Sometimes I see people have very short hub and putting no effort to take their own picture, like they just whipped it up in 30 seconds. They still have high scores and lots of comments. I don't get it:(

don't try to figure it out. some hubbers have been here for 2 or 3 years and have gained fans by writing good content and help in the online community.
usually there is a mix of size hubs with someone who has a lot of hubs published. it really depends on the subject.

just write, enjoy and don't fixate on the hubber score. it will fluctuate. I have found it helps to make personal goals and work on reaching those with my writing. smile
