How do I get traffic, fans etc. on hubpages

   Okay,... I'm still relatively new to the hubpages environment.  I have written 9 hubs now and have had about 1,000 hits on one of them.  I'm signed up for Google Adsense and also signed up with Amazon for affiliate activities.
   
   Here are some questions:
   
   1 - How does one "attract" fans and what difference does that make in the overall rating I see which certain contributors have attained?  My rating has peaked out recently as high as 92 or so,... but not sure what drives that and how it impacts anything.
   
   2 - Wondering how to achieve more success in the area of hubpage traffic.  As indicated,... I have one page that has attracted about 1000 page views since July 10.  Not phenomenal,... but definitely my best effort to date.  I have written 9 hubs on various topics.  Open to thoughts and information on how to increase traffic.  I'm already using links in Facebook, DIGG etc. to reference my pages.
   
   3 - Thus far my "results" with Adsense and Amazon are less than stellar.  I am still below $5.00 earnings on Adsense and under $2.00 earnings on Amazon as an affiliate.  I have read a number of articles within hubpages on the topic of earning money via hubpages articles, adsense and amazon affiliate programs.  Right now my add click through percentage is about 2-3%.  Not anything to write home about for sure!
   
   4 - Finally,... how can attract more feedback (the helpful kind) in comments on my pages?  I'm not seeing much from that perspective either.
   
   Okay,... hopefully this isn't too broad of a topic to get some feedback on.

   Well, as to the AdSense earnings, write more hubs. Make sure they're unique, of high quality, targeting the right keywords and providing good information to their audience. If you do those things, the clicks will follow. (Caveat here -- I haven't looked at your hubs yet.)
   
   Second, if you're here to make money, don't worry about the HP traffic and fans. They're not going to be making it for you. And besides, if you do what I said in the first paragraph, the fans and the HP traffic will follow you naturally.
   
   Getting involved in the HP community does two things for you: first, it helps to keep your author score up (helping any links from your hubs to your external blogs/sites become DoFollow links); second, you get to meet some really great people who know their stuff.
   
   And look up some great "how to" hubs by hubbers like Darkside, Relache, Mark Knowles, Frogdropping, et.al.

         dofollow means any outbound links from your hub will be followed by search bots, and the site they go to will get the weight of those links for their pagerank. If your author's score falls below 75 all your outbound will be nofollow and their target will not get any link rank from the link

   Interaction with the hubpages community will bring feedback to your hubs.  As Ironher stated the hubpage community will help guide you through with hubscores and author scores. You can attract fans thorugh your writing and through your interaction with others on hubpages.  Your fans will give you feedback on your hubs and that will help you improve. You only have nine hubs so it may take more than that to get noticed. Keep writing  Also bookmark other hubs that talk about marketing for future reference.

   My advice is that you write about things you like, things that interest you, things you know. If those hubs are about things that other people are interested in, you will get traffic.
   
   Some people will give different advice. But for me my number one priority is the reader. Not the search engines. If you try and cater to the search engines first and foremost, you'll too easily forget about the humans.
   
   I can see that you're trying too hard, for instance this URL:
   
   hub/Garmin-Nvi--Garmin-Reviews--Garmin-GPS-Nuvi--Garmin-Navigation--Garmin-Nuvi-760-GPS
   
   Using the word 'garmin' five times in a URL? I've never seen that before. I don't think it going to score you any extra SEO points. In fact it can too easily be seen as keyword stuffing.

   I am learning from other peoples posts- I too am a newbie. I can say that I am making more than the 2-3% I guess- Because I have 300 clicks- and have made $15.20 in 12 days. I did not know about the no follow thing.

      I just visited your site...I wonder if your natural topics are appealing to a crowd that has more time, and therefore hangs out online more (the elderly and homemakers).

   I just started posting my hubs then replying to others on their hubs and doing a lot of talking here in the forums. And some how I have over 100 fans. Don't ask me how I did it 'cause I'm still scratching my head on how I got those fans lol

   I have been a member of HubPages for a while but just started adding my own pages.  I read through the ideas and questions that need answers to get inspired.  I am primarily a blogger, but these pages are fun to make, and the community seems really friendly.
   
   It is fun setting up a HubPage, because I just get to do what I enjoy.  Research and write.  I do not have to concern myself with much other than that so far.
   
   Now I would be happy with 2% income once the traffic starts showing up. 
   
   I like the responses to this question because that is my question, too.  I have written, now what?  What do I do next to get someone to find my great HubPages? 
   
   I intend to write more and see where it goes.  Plus there are some great HubPages here and I will never run out of things to read.
