      You can try finding blogs that are related to your websites to link to.  Make sure that all links are dofollow, otherwise they don't seem to lift your rankings within the search engines.  Regularly updated blogs are a great source and a lot of them are dofollow.  Also any forums you are on that allow signatures try putting in your website if they allow it.  If you have 1000 posts on a forum you can instantly have 1000 backlinks from that site.  Having said that 1000 backlinks from one forum is not going to be anywhere near as good as 1000 backlinks from 1000 different websites, but you get the idea, it all helps.  Also remember to not build links to quickly, search engines are getting smarter these days and if they believe that the backlinks don't look natural they will sometimes ban you from showing up in the search results.

   My Little Experience....
   This idea Worked for me & also helped me boosting my google page rank from 0(in last two months ago) to 2,3,4 & 5(continuing from last 1 week) at  different places where I work....

   Write quality content that the target audience will find helpful and useful to begin with. Be constructive and stay away from hype. Use article syndication and press releases to link to the quality content. Be social, use twitter to tweet etc. After this initial push, if your content is truly useful, aligned to your target market and addresses their wants and needs effectively, links will build naturally.
   
   Blogs are great place for links but forget blog signatures, the real power of blogs lies in obtaining contextual links from within the article. Similarly forget about forum signatures. Concentrate on what works the best rather than just a numbers game.
   
   Also, don’t dismiss related sites that don’t follow links out of hand. If it is a busy site popular amongst your target customers, there may be some good traffic to be had, traffic that will in turn take up your call to action and even link to your page.

   One thing I omitted to say in my last post was forget about reciprocal links as a quality link building strategy. Google all but ignores reciprocal links because it views the strategy as gaming their algorithm i.e. you link to me and I will link to you. The process smacks of manipulation and lacks any real level of editorial control.
   
   The webmasters who will actually link back to you will be minimal; perhaps 1 in 100 if you are very, very lucky. As such reciprocal linking is a strategy that represents a complete waste of time with no real gain.
   
   Furthermore, emails requesting this type of link are viewed as spam by most webmasters, so if you wish to be seen as professional and gain quality links, reciprocation is definitely NOT the way to go.
