I need a copy of my report. The cop gave me a card for a website that has the report on file.
But, I can't get a copy without purchasing it.

Is this right? Shouldn't I be able to get a copy without paying for it?

I'm not an experienced criminal so I don't know how it works...

I had a card with the cops name, called him and he had it at the dept for me to pick up. That was when my ex violated restraining order.
I also had to get a report copy when a drunk crashed in our yard - the same thing - I picked it up.

Sure hope you are ok Jen smile Holly

PS Do you need an alibi? smile

I know here in Mass, Springfield and Chicopee area, you want something from the police station you must get copies of the originals. And, yes, they make you pay for them. smile

            I'm good.
I'm just getting ready to deal with this BS tomorrow.
There wasn't a AAA tow truck up there, so I had to pay out of pocket. Now I'm trying to get reimbursed.
I'll get an estimate & decide what to do about the damage.
I really wanted to see that report though. hmm

Would stealing my own police report be a crime?
      Cyber-theft, maybe?

      lol
Nope, I just wrecked my truck. I waited until the last minute to get my paperwork together before I take it in tomorrow to get fixed up.

I think you can go downtown and get it for free. I may be wrong on that.

grrr. the accident happened 300 miles from home. I didn't think twice about it when the cop (er, Law Enforcement Professional) gave me this card.

I'm sure as hell not paying for it. This much I know. smile

If it is an auto accident, your insurance agent may be able to get a copy for you as they should have it.

The best way to find out is to call the clerk. They will let you know if and where you can pick up the report for free. The alternative is purchasing online for a fee.

      Bail Up!
      lol Perfect - an expert!

I'm not even sure which town I was in when it happened. The card only lists the county. Regardless, I'm not driving all the way back there for the report...
The highway is still ice-covered lol

I think AAA will be taking care of this for me... smile
