I am new to hubpages and just wrote my first hub. My score seems low. Any tips on what I can do to improve it?

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated as well.

I'm new to this also but not really new to these types of sites. I agree with Ohma, interacting with the community will help you gain attention and a bit of exposure from other hubbers. I sometimes think that to get more traffic or views, you got to be marketing savvy or use your talent to promote your work. It's all about marketing, advertising and promotion to make yourself visible.

On the other hand, if you're only here to hone your craft in writing and never really care so much about traffic or views, that's a whole different story because you can always ask your friends or families to make a critique of your work and not worry about driving up your hub score. So which is your priority, writing or  hubscore? Does that help?

        Thanks Moon Goddess!

That does help. I am here for both reasons. I want to get traffic and views, but I'm also working on my writing so I can make my personal blog better. Hubpages is a place where I can write about things that do not relate to my blog, but it still gives me some writing practice as well.

http://hubpages.com/forum/23 this is the forum to ask these questions.
Your hub looks good to me. Promotion and participation is what drives traffic. Traffic drives hub scores.
Backlinks, keyword research, submitting your URL to search engines activly interacting with other forums that are dedicated to your topic, get to lnow other hubbers and listen to the advice they give. This is a great community with so many helpful people. Ask questions and read others hubs
this is the best advice I can give.

    Welcome to HubPages.

I reviewed your hub and for the most part it looks good.

However, with that said, you could use more than one capsule for your writing. Each bold type written title could be in a capsule of their own.

On another note, you might consider adding more keywords. It is good to have between 9-15 for a Hub. And, this would depend on how long your hub came to be. If it's 3000 words long, then maybe use more upwards to 20 keywords, but wouldn't push past that, because it could hurt your hub, instead of helping. The past sentence was an example only.

I try to stick between 9-15, regardless.

The reason for using more than one capsule is to optimize your adsense placement of ads. Adsense creates add space between the first two capsules, always. This can help you generate earnings.

Wow Cagsll. Thanks so much. I have been looking all over for information like this, but it's hard to search for something like that.

      Super helpful.
