Youre welcome to tell me if i post too much here, but i was wondering why google ignores tags. Someone said you shouldnt use tags that you are not using in your hub, which makes me think tags does matter somehow. Also, i am sure i put a keyword in google once and it took me to that the exact keyword i tagged my blog with. And i didnt use the keyword in my text! Thanks.
Not using tags that isn't in your hub doesn't mean to say you can't use related words, it's more about using completed unrelated words in the hope they it will bring in more traffic.
So don't throw in the tag SEX when the hub got nothing to do with sex.
The other problem is though that people are using tags that are in their hub, but it makes little sense. You should target words that people will use to try and find your hub in a search. Keywords that are not only meaningful, but do have some kind of search volume.
I just went and checked a hub of a random hubber and they had the word 'simply' as a tag. And 'importance'. Neither of which will help.
So how do you explain the keyword i entered in google which took me directly to a tag in my blog? Surely that must mean that google does look at tags.
Is this a wordpress blog?
That is easily possible, many search engines can pick up tag search pages in wordpress, especially if you spend some time configuring them that way.
Don't let a one off determine or shape your theories on how search engines work.
What was the keyword?
I dont remember. Something like ' agassi sampras hit for haiti'. Something specific.
Because it's specific don't mean it results in traffic.
If people aren't searching for it then there's no competition.
Just ask the Unimpressed Turtle.
You laugh now, but wait until the film unimpressed turtle comes out

Greetings-- I have been reading quite a bit on this topic lately, trying to learn more. I have learned quite a bit about what they are, and where/how many times they should be placed. My new question is, must they appear in the exact same sequence as in the title and the list of...

So, I've got this hub I've put a lot of effort into and had high hopes for. It's my first real keyword hub. I did what was for me, a lot of link building in order to get a higher pagerank to get a good Search Engine Ranking Position.A few days ago, and less than two months old, it finally got...

Ok, I did look at the FAQ's before coming here, and I found a hub on tags and read it. But it seemed to contradict another article I read. I also read through the comments and noticed that another hubber posted my question 4 months ago and has yet to get a reply so I am going to ask...

I have a hub that gets anywhere from 200-300 views every single day. It's an evergreen hub. Unfortunately, if I type the title in GOOGLE it's not ranking anywhere near 1st page. However, it is on the 2nd or 3rd page for some keyword phrases, but rank is still low. What can I do to dramatically...

I have been here on HP over 3 years, and still don't fully comprehend the concept! I get that they are words and/or phrases that reflect the content of your article, aren't tags, and that they're not to be 'stuffed'. Apparently I have some block to this, since some of my articles have...
