All the spam this morning is making the forum unreadable. Is today some kind of holiday like International Spam Day?
Trouble is reporting it all isn't my idea of a good way to spend a sunny Friday morning!
Oh God! I've heard of some awful holidays, but International Spam Day? Unless it involves meat in a can, I think I'll not celebrate.
Do you think all the spammers had a convention somewhere to decide on appropriate organization sponsored holidays such as this?
April 23rd - International Spam Day
May 5th - Overload an Email Account Day
July 18th - National Postal Worker's Appreciation Day (please suspend junk mailings for 24hrs)
etc.
Hmmm... I wonder what the handbook looks like...
Today is St Georges Day in England, United Kingdom but I know what you mean about spam, even after unsubscribing from their e-mails I still get inidated with more and more and it keeps going.
Its a NEW HOLIDAY - I love holidays!
Happy International Send ME Your Money Day!
also known as
International SPAM Day!
Good one! It is a pain in the "ASSets" to spend a lot of time hitting the spam button.

Most mornings I open up HubPages and my feed contains several spam postings for the best SEO service/exam tutor/real estate agent/ in Chennai/Banglalore/Pune. I often report them as spam. Am I wasting my time? Will HP's bots catch them eventually?

I have been spamming hubs that are solely created to promote other websites (such as watching sports events online for free); what happens when I do this. Is there somebody looking into it and do such hubs get removed? I am only trying to protect hubpages and stop people misusing it.

My understanding is that this is against the ToS. Yet I see a huge amount of it going on.

I know this may not be popular, but since HubPages is being hit with so much spam, possibly from certain countries, I suggest that HubPages block the IP ranges where many of these spammers reside.Other sites have done it and it successfully dropped the amount of submitted garbage quite a bit. ...
