I am new and learning the ropes. What does the tag with a red-x mean? I see it to the right of my hub. Does it mean I do not want those tags associated with my capsule? Actually, I want the tags used to draw people to my capsule. I clicked on some of them and they were deleted.

The "X" is if you want to delete it AS a tag.  You can option to choose the tags suggested or plug in your own.  I would suggest using a Keyword Tool. smile

These red x's only show on tags on your own hubs, and as goldenpath illuminated for you, are used to delete tags.

I'm not sure, though, what the "bid" thing is all about on the Keyword Tool.  Care to enlighten?

Assuming we are talking about the Google Adwords tool, the bids is the price (CPC, cost per click) an Adwords customer must expect to pay for their ads to show when searching for a given keyword. Conversely, if you are trying to get high-paying ads to show on your hub, you might want to select relevant keywords with a high CPC. It all depends on how much competition there is for the keyword in question, the more competition the higher the price for the advertiser.

So, basically, the higher the CPC the better the keyword to use?  So that "bid" is on the part of the advertiser and not necessarily something we are liable for?  Forgive my ignorance.  Anytime I see things regarding money be it "bids" or "billing" I shutter to go further.  I guess that's why I have yet to acquire an Adwords account - the "billing" thing.

From what I have read, you may not want to pick the very most competitive keywords (i.e. where the bar shows 100% competition), the reason being that your hub is unlikely to appear in the search results for such keywords.

The "bids" is between the advertiser and Google, none of your concern. If you were to become an Adwords customer, you set the amount you are willing to spend - per click and/or per day. An expensive keyword may be available for less during less competitive times, Google will optimize this for you.

Still learning the keyword thing myself, but I've learned that it is a skill of psychology.  Using a keyword tool will help you identify what words people use to search for what you are offering.  It's quite fascinating on a global scale! smile
