Is plated or buffet style cheaper for brides when catering their wedding reception?

Buffet style is almost always cheaper for brides, hands down.

Buffet = bulk food discounts, self-serve
Plated = often expensive dish options, served by paid wait staff

Im not sure what the queston was. I spent 70 dollars on my reception. A total of about 500 dollars on my wedding. Including my dress... I chose to have a pot luck thingy. people brought food. it was great.

Justine, you went for the ultimate savings route- good for you! Pot luck will be an even bigger savings than buffet-style.

I realize that doesnt work for every family, and style of wedding. But, in my circumstance it saved TONS of money, and everyone was happy with it!! Like I said, Im not sure what the actual question was, just throwing out another possablility there.  smile
