Who wants to get published?

Every writer aspire to be the number one bestseller even for a day..If there is.
Well, I'd like to know what the process is...in sequential pattern so as to be one..I dream that ever since I started writing. I remember when I was alone in a bookstore.
I was staring at those bestseller's rack.
Surprisingly, I heard a phantom's voice as it was one. I just have to realized today what the voice meant. I have to be in the list of the bestsellers even for a month. That is all I want..
I kept on writing and editing and typing...I do hope that I could find some sensible readers to read my works. Where the stars look down. Kindred spirits must try to see my works since it has a scope for the imagination...
Kindly help me fulfill this vision.

For me, I don't nessacarily need a best seller, yet anyway. I would be more than happy with being introduced into the writing world and not nessacirly seen as a sell out rather someone different who explores new things.
I would rather be classified as a sign post for a literary genre/era/classification. This said, they probably come hand in hand.I don't have to be on the bestseller list (though it would be a really nice perk). I just want to be published. I would like moderate success.

You can publish yourself like I did at Books on Demand (BoD)in Germany last year. May be you can get a bonus by Tchibo like me so that you can publish your book for ca. 39 Euros. Unlike the old Vanity Presses, you are not indebted to pay for the books. The books will appear on sites like Amazon.com. You're published, but not edited or sold. PODs offer nothing really in editing your work. They offer nothing in promoting it either. If you're equiped, or read the many books that explain promotion, and either way have lots of luck, you might sell a few books to non-family members. If you are a good promoter, you can have success. Eragon by Christopher Paolini was published that way. Then, he worked his tail off getting it popular. Most writers don't have the ambition to do it.

I have considered PODs repeatedly, but I run into my need for an editor. I have a tendency to leave out words and write fragments as that is how I talk a lot of the time. My grammer is questionable and the semi-colon is my enemy. I can go over and over it time after time and keep finding errors. Therefore I really need an editor.
The trick is finding one.

I think it would take more than a forum post to answer your question Shakespril. Try "For Dummies" and "Idiot's Guides". They have titles like "Idiot's Guide for Publishing Magazine Articles" and "Writing and Publishing Children's Books for Dummies".

The trick is finding one.I went the self publishing route, and did the editing, but then had another person do a final edit. But since then, and next time, would contact a local college and see if any literary students would want to help in the editing process. Good Luck!

Doing the self publishing thing myself. It's a challenge, but the most frustrating thing I've come up against, is that libraries, outlets such as Walmart, Sam's and Costco won't consider a self published book. Quite frustrating. Working on getting a high profile person to endorse our cause. Check it out, it really is a great book. "BANDIT Big Black Dog Who Stole My Heart" by Carol Bradshaw. It's available on line at most book outlets.
