I'm really new here but I'll dare to put it out there:
On Being Weird
I choose to be weird.
It didn't choose me. I could have been mainstream.
But a whisper inside, There is more.
What I thought I knew, now becomes what I once believed.
Seeking answers only unearths more questions.
And as my knowledge builds I find myself more alone.
A chasm stretches where there once was common ground.
Onward I go searching. Inward I go looking.
Death will of course bring truth.
But too find it first, that is the game.
A game worthy of my being weird
Here's a poem I wrote a while ago and never finished it. Enjoy
Love from a distance, what good does it do?
Does it benefit anyone?
Should it be let out to wander free?
Will it be accepted with open arms, or rejected with a cold shoulder?
Am I brave enough to find out?
Do I blow the prison bars away?
Do I let the ice block that was once my heart melt?
Do I lay everything on the line?
daughters of isis
like springs from deep within the earth
that slowly bubble through
the heart of the sacred feminine
is as old as time, not new.
woman power, mother goddess
there was a time back then
it was the way the world was run
long before all things zen
look at the ancient frescoes great
it stands out bright and clear
that woman was the worshipped one
the one atop the tier
long since dormant, the power of she
her story became his
but time's a very cyclic thing
for us daughters of isis!
I wrote this some time ago - but thought it was relevant now with so many hubs on the Mother Goddess and Matriachal Society
another week
a hand full of days
a fist full of words
i have no time to speak
i'm too weak to let it weep
my crop is drooping too
too tired i am to reap
i'm driving,i must not sleep
the wheel will kill the first one who stands in front of me
be it beast or man
unfeeling machines know not what they do
nailclippers scissors away
seperation and atonement written from the book of god
from some distant smoged choked yellow ringed planet
the oceans from a fire hell
caught in the under tow
of another week
a hand full of days
a fist full of words
i cannot speak!!!
In Dreams
You seldom cross my mind anymore;
Through mindless days of mundane tasks,
ordinary people, uneventful hours
I can put you in that secluded section
of my mind called "someone I used to know";
But in the darkness, in that deep abyss
that comes just before sleep,
I feel a whispery breeze slide into
my room and a sweet lilac fragrance
of days gone by wafts like a feather
through my senses;
For a few fleeting moments you are
home again;
I am safe
Wrote this about my mom.
Here is one I wrote to my parents when I was 15 years old as an anniversary gift to them.
Parents
There never were such loving parents,
I am sure that this is true ,
To show how much I love you,
here is what I can do for you.
I'll do my best in school ,
and keep the golden rule,
I will be kind and polite in every way ,
and make you proud of me each day,
How can I show my love for you,
a million words are still to few.
I have more that are stacked in a book and I have written real stories too. I hope my dad
is looking down at this and saying " My goodness you were finally brave enough to post
it on the computer.

This is a poem I wrote a month ago about a fictional homeless woman living out of her car:
No Turning Back
Another road sign
with a place she's never been
A different town
on a different day
As the grand marshal
of an impromptu parade
of one
With the accumulation
of thirty years
displayed in the backseat
of her car,
One by one
they stop
to stare.
Each face is new,
but the prejudiced eyes
always
the
same.
The feeling
of not being wanted
hangs
quite heavy here.
And her heart
and face
harden
to hide the pain,
Determined
not to care
Only more miles
can quiet the snickers
that echo
in her head.
She must
keep
driving.
Only fourteen miles to go
to yet
another town
on another day.
I know that I am not really supposed to post links to my hubs on the forums but in this case I believe it is okay because I posted some personal stories as hubs. Here are a couple of anecdotal shorts.

I'm not looking for specifics or any links but what is your favorite hub that you've written. This doesn't have to be your highest trafficked hub, in fact, it may not get any traffic but you're still glad you wrote it.Also does view count affect how you feel about this particular hub.

Of all the hubs you've written, do you have a favorite hub?I know it's a little like choosing your favorite child. Is there one hub that is just special to you, even if it's not the most popular?

I don't care, WHO, wrote this. It DESERVES A RE-PRINT, for those of you that did not see it. WASHINGTON POST HITS OBAMA Finally, the Washington Post speaks out on Obama! This is very brutal, timely though. As I'm sure you know, the Washington Post newspaper has a reputation for being extremely...

What is your favorite poem or prose that you wrote?Mine is the first prose I wrote, in 1971. It is titled, 'The Universe is You.'

Have you ever written a song or poem for someone?I have thought about doing these things, but I lack the artistic expression that others posses. Unless you classify sarcasm as art.

Can you use articles that you've written on Hubpages for other similar sites? Or do you have to...write new things? Thanks
