Hello All,
I am trying to create a link in my text. I highlight the test, click the chain icon, a new window comes up, but the window is blank and I cannot enter anything in the window. I have tried going the HTML route, but again, when the new window comes up, it is blank. I have tried refreshing the window to no avail. Can someone fill be in as to what I am doing wrong? I have tried different browsers, but the same issue comes up. All I want to do is create a link.
Thanks for the tips.
You can make your link in a word processor and copy-paste it.
I've tried this, but the link will not work when it is in my Hub.
@Haunty below is what they said.
If that window is blank as you claim, then HubPages has a problem. It shouldn't be blank.
Where do you see anything that talks about the HTML editor button or it's use?
I have actually been trying to create a link in my Hub for 5 days now, and every time I click on the anchor icon, a new page comes up it is blank. I do not understand why.
The HTML button I am talking about is the first choice on the line with the anchor link.
Have you sorted it out yet, Garmin?
The only thing I can think of apart from a hubpages glitch is perhaps clearing out your browser cache? It's worth a try if nothing else.
I am still trying and cannot seem to sort this out. Is there anyway to contact HubPages?
You have duplicate content, word for word.

Other's have posted similar problems over the past several months with HP. They've been hardpressed to replicate the issue.
I've been creating links in the text capsule successfully today. But have had lots of other problems. So maybe the gremlins are out in full force today.
Okay, that now makes me ask a question......
As I am to understand posting link within text themselves, the only thing require is to highlight the text, click on the chain connect link icon, then enter in the address you want to link to.
Why would you put any sort of HTML in the spot?
Or does that actually work? And, what does it do if it works?
To me, it doesn't seem to make any sense. Please advise?
HTML in the link creation window? No.
I believe by going the HTML route (s)he is referring to the insert HTML window, which is accessed by hitting the little HTML botton in the editor.
All I have been doing is exactly that - highlight the text, click on the chain icon, and that's when the blank screen comes up - there is no option presented to enter in the address I want to link to.
I thought if it wouldn't accept the anchor, it might accept HTML, but that isn't even showing up.
The CHAIN Icon is not the HTML editor button. It does however open to a smaller window, which has two white bars on them and a button to save the setting.
The top white bar is to enter an IP address.
The bottom white bar allows you to directly connect it to another one of your hubs, as it will list your hubs, should you press the down arrow button and look.
No matter how much I try and re-try, there are no white bars showing up to enter an IP address, it just shows blank and won't allow me to enter anything in .
I realize that. And, I'm simply trying to show you that I understood what they asked differently. No offense. I'm not angry or mad, I was trying to teach? if you will.
I wasn't trying to be demeaning or anything. I had to use that function quite a bit, when I did my Valentine's Hubs. I embedded the links so as to make it look better than a bunch of link out in the open.
On some, I had to embed more than one link, because they had an Interview, for which, I attached at last minute.
So, we're cool. No problem.
I don't get that html mention either we can't post html in HP
just copy and paste the URL of the page site, found in the address bar, way at the top...http: / / blahblah
hope that makes sense.
You can use these html tags:
a, blockquote, br, strong, em, u, h2, h3, h4, li, ol, p, pre, sup, sub, ul
It means that if for instance you want to make a link, you can press the HTML botton in the editor and in the resulting window type:
<a href=http://hubpages.com>HubPages</a>
then press update to editor. And wonder of wonders, there you have this link that you created using HTML:
HubPages
I have had the same problem recently. It might be a good idea just to send hubpages an email. They are very responsive and if there is a bug in the works, I am sure they need to know about it.
Hope this helps x
What is the email for HubPages? I will try this.
Then I suggest you email someone at HubPages and see if they can help you.
Hi,
why don't you try the link option? It will allow you to link more than two pages.
Adding a link in content will allow only one link. Trying to add more than one link is not permissible in hubpages.(Correct me if I am wrong)

I give! I've searched the first 3 or 4 pages of "Getting Help" Forum and I've read the entire Link's Capsule section in the Learning Center (http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/using-hubtool). That Hub, by the way, has a large number of Quick Links in it. How do you create a list of topics...

I have been trying to edit an old Hub with new links and gave up because the link box did not open when I had highlighted the text. Then I started a new Hub and I am having the same issue. Is there a problem today??

Since I don't have an affiliate to Amazon or adsense why does the violation list that I have too many of these? What is the difference between the two?I thought that you could have one amazon link per 50 words. Some of my pages have over 1,000 words and only 4 amazon links, and it's...
