Question about tags and related hub listings

I have been reading various hubs and tutorials about adjusting tags on our hubs to have them pull in related hubs in the side bar on the right. I have went through all my hubs and tweaked them and many have better related hubs now, however, it seems like there repeatedly are hubs about cars/trucks that keep showing up in the mix. I can not figure out the tags that may be pulling them in as related hubs. Any ideas?

Dale I have tried it too.. sometimes no matter what you do those totally unrelated hubs show up on the right... I hope someone has a better way of working through this.. I will also be watching out for the answers..

Phew, what a relief, sofs! At least I am not alone, lol. smile

I just have issues with how to repair a Mazda transmission on a hub for Pagan Altar Tools or similar, lol. smile

Have you tried choosing those unrelated hubs to see which of their tags match yours?

I have tried that Healthy Pursuits, and no common tags were found.  That was one of my first thoughts. Thanks for the suggestion, however. smile

OK Dale, you are on to something here. Something is wonky and it is related to cars. I just checked 3 of my hubs, at random, and they all have multiple car titles as suggested reading.

The first hub, "30 fun rainy-day activities for kids," has these suggested hubs in the sidebar:
*The Day I Gave Up My Car
*Important Things to Remember During a Car Maintenance Check
    *Winter Emergency Car Kit
*My Day With the Freaks (about going to see the Batmobile)

The second of my hubs that I checked is "Funny Talent Show Ideas." Here are Hubpages's related articles to go with that one:
    *Your Teenage Daughter's First Car
    *Winter Emergency Car Kit

The third hub I checked is "Purple Painting Ideas for a Girl's Room." These articles are suggested for those reading about decorating a girl's bedroom:
    *Winter Emergency Car Kit
*Checking Your Tires Made Simple: Air Pressure
*All I Want is a Maserati

I guess someone on the tech team thought the people who write automotive articles need a little boost in their views. (Just kidding, I'm sure it's a glitch.) Maybe we should start a thread in the problems/suggestions section??? This is very weird and funny but also worrisome. I get lots of my views from related hubs.

Those are many of the SAME titles I have showing on my hubs!  That first one shows up over, and over, and over!

I have created the topic in the Problems/Suggestions topic as you mentioned SmartAndFun. Great idea.  Hopefully we will learn more.

Thank you, Dale! Hopefully this will now get worked out. I have a feeling it has been going on for some time!

I had noticed it some time back, SmartAndFun, but just recently learned some about what the tags do on HP so I started working on them trying to tweak the related hubs as these show up in Google and if related, rank the page higher.

I don't usually spend much time looking at my articles' related hubs, but had noticed a funky car title on one of my hubs before, several weeks ago. I just assumed it was an isolated case. I've also noticed in the last few weeks that my traffic from other hubbers' subdomains has gone way down. There are several hubbers who have articles in a similar vein to a few of mine, and I normally get a nice bit from them, and I'm assuming they like that my readers probably visit theirs, as well. I wondered why those views were so few, and now I wonder if this might be why, and if it is widespread across the site.
