Why am I having so many problems?

Why are you in the place you are at today?

What did you do yesterday to create today?

What can you do today to have a better tomorrow?

A wise old woman like in a city called WHY. Each day she would cry aloud to the people of the city, "I have the answer to your problems". To which none would listen to her advise or ask for help. Day after day she would cry out loud. "I have the answer to your problems."

The problems of the city grew worse and worse and the people would cry out
"WHY? Why am I having so many problems? I don't know what to do!"

As they turned away from the wisdom of the wise old woman, their problems grew. The cries became louder and louder until one day they couldn't hear the wise old woman at all.

Hidden in the back of the city was a small shop that contained a manual. It was the book which the wise old woman got all her wisdom. Unknown to most people, this book did have the answers to all of the people's problems. There were a few people who knew about this manual, but they too chose not go to this little shop out of the way and read it.

This little story illustrates the world. Each one of us have our set of problems we are dealing with. The wise old woman is the WISDOM in the manual called God's WORD, the BIBLE.

King Solomon, one of the main authors of the Book of Proverbs said; "Wisdom calls aloud in the open squares. She cries out in the chief concourses of the opening of the gates in the city she speaks her words." Proverbs 1:21-22. He goes on to talk about the calamity that will come upon a person when they refuse wisdom's counsel.

I have quit wondering "why" I have problems. I know the problems I have or had are because I refused to seek out the wisdom the is from God. I refused counsel. Now that I have been studying the book of Proverbs, I can see many things that I shouldn't have done or things I should have done! Obeying God's Word and heeding His wisdom would have kept me from going down the wrong path and creating the problem(s).

In Proverbs, I have found: financial advice, relationship and business principles, how to raise children, how to live in safety, prosperity and peace, true satisfaction, how to have a King as a friend, how to have abundance and lots, lots more!

According to Proverbs, wisdom is calling out all around! She must be sought out! She is likened to precious treasure that is hidden. We are to desire the wisdom of God's Word and seek her out! Wisdom is called "The principle thing". It is to be desired more than silver and gold. The man or woman who fears the Lord and delights in His Word (wisdom) the Bible says, "wealth and riches will be in his house."

Psalm 112:1-3 KJV
1 Praise ye the LORD.
Blessed [is] the man [that] feareth the LORD, [that] delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches [shall be] in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Make wise decisions today = better outcome tomorrow!

Proverbs 1:20-33 NKJV -

20 Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares.

21 She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words:

22 "How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.

23 Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.

24 Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,

25 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke,

26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes,

27 When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.

28 "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.

29 Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD,

30 They would have none of my counsel [And] despised my every rebuke.

31 Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own fancies.

32 For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them;

33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil."

Something to think about!

Until next time...

Ever spent the day feeling sorry for yourself? How about feeling like a failure? The most vulnerable we are when we are feeling sorry for ourselves. No one but ourselves can stop the pitty party of self destruction. Try playing the one who wins.
