Do you think that migraine headaches can be avoided if you live in different areas of the world?

For example, do people who live in the mountains get more migraine headaches than people who live by the sea?

Migraines for many sufferers are due to internal factors (how your body handles stress, what you eat and hormones) more than external factors such as where you live.

I think, Migraine headaches are due to internal factors of ones body. You have to correct your system first. Changes in lifestyle, diet and practicing Yoga asanas helps a lot. You should observe when you get the attack and try to avoid those factors, a particular type of food, a particular kind of environment, stress and anxiety.

It totally depends on the type of migraine, I have seen this happen, usually for people with headaches due to vascular problems, such as restricted blood flow to the brain, in this type of migraine, mountains usually make things worse.  But again, this might be different for different people. I lived in a high mountains, when my aunt (who has vascular problems and migraines) would come to visit us, she could not stay longer than a few days because of the severe pain she would experience. I believe altitudes and the pressure changes that are associated with different areas do play some role.

I agree with your Aunt. When I lived in Florida I never suffered migraines like I do now. I guess the salt air had something to do with it.
