How do/ did you view the age of 30?
Did you dread it, welcome, or was it just another day?
I used to think 30 was so old, especially when my parents were 30. Now, since it's right around the corner, I still feel young and I decided to make it a date for which I plan on meeting a list of goals. One of the silly goals was to have my third baby by 30, and lo and behold, my third will be making his or her appearance the week of my birthday!
Very cool. I will be 30 in 11 days and said the very exact thing about my kids and here I am waiting to see if there is a "Bun in the Oven"...
When I was a kid I thought 30 was old.
When I got into my 20's I thought 30 was a scary number to reach & I still thought it was "old" .... I dreaded it all the way up until my 30th birthday. I don't know if I thought I would wake up with wrinkles & gray hair or what, but there was a stigma on it where I felt I would be unattractive & no longer "desirable". Just some old hag or old maid...
Well, not I'm 36 and I've pretty much gotten over it... lol
I could give a rat's behind about the number, it's about how you live your life & take care of yourself.
Thirty IS old if you're a cat or a dog. In Tibet you're still under-age at thirty, aren't you?
I grew up in a set of six girl cousins, as the youngest, so I was always the 'baby'. Sometimes that wasn't the best position to be, but as we all got older, I was STILL the youngest, and that was just fine. Thirty meant I was finally a grown up , and that didn't bother me a bit. Now that I'm 70, they are all still older than me.
First! Congratulations on your upcoming birthday! Currently, I view 30 as an amazing number...not too old....not too young...the world is still at your feet! When I turned 30, it was a little difficult because I wasn't where I wanted to be. Interestingly enough, that realization gave me the courage to change things. I have written hubs on birthdays as new beginnings. I neverdread them and would never consider them hust another day. I think of them as a new year, a new chance, a day to celebrate! Happy birthday!
Thank You Very much... I look forward to it even when my 10 year old cracks the joke "Mom how big should I make the cake?" "Why son?" "Because I need to make sure all 30 candles will fit." :0
When I was in my early twenties I saw a film with Dudley Moore titled '30 Is A Dangerous Age, Cynthia', where the comic went to great lengths to 'get laid'. I was married and divorced again by the time I was thirty, only getting hitched again by thirty-four. Reaching thirty was pitched as close to the 'great waterfall of life' (as in the Flat Earthers' great precipice, remember in Tim Robbins' 'Erik the Viking', when they had to row for dear life to get back from the edge?)
If 40 is the new 20 then turning 30 is like 15. For me turning 30 was no big deal. I looked and felt the same. People were surprised, when I told them that I was 30, and told me how young I looked.
I have found 31 a bit more difficult. Now I have to say that I am "in my 30's" it's a bit more daunting. Oh we'll. you are only as old as you feel so feel well and enjoy.
Turning 30 for me was great I was married to my child hood sweet heart and my kids were growing up plus my business was on a very good track ....It really was the first time in my life that my world was complete and I was enjoying everything 30 had to offer so I say to you imbrace it enjoy it and live it and most of all make it all you want it to be the world is your oyster.
All through my 20's, I dreaded turning 30. As I inched closer, I became nervous. I still wasn't married, didn't have a career, etc so I felt I wasn't ready for 30 yet.
Then, a funny thing happened. I turned 30, and I felt OK. It wasn't the end of the world. And I actually felt....positive. Like I had come into my own, I felt more solidified in who I was than when I was in my 20's. I'm 33 now and I love being in my 30's, it's so much better than the 20's in so many ways.
It's 40 that I'm now dreading LOL.

How to deal with turning 30 anxiety that is overwhelming?Rationally I know turning 30 is not old, yet I am suffering from severe anxiety and my birthday is 2 months away. Is it pointless to go back to college for 10 years at 30 yrs old? It's been a crazy year for me with a lot of really weird events. Plus with me turning 30 this year I started looking at my life. I always wanted a degree in Archaeology or Anthropology but never got it. I am now seriously considering...

It has been a gray area for a long time that in the UK, sex below the age of 16 is illegal and many frown on it. I'll be honest, I lost my virginity at 15, however I am not a criminal, I have lead a community driven life and am a law abiding citizen. In this day and age, children are exposed to sex...

I just turned thirty on Tuesday and several friends have told me they thought thirty was when real life begins. Does anyone else feel this way? Just curious.

From Experts Point of View, Is 30-day Hub Challenge still works? Now that I don't have a day job anymore, most of the tasks are delegated to my VA, so I got room to write all day. Writing quality post would not matter to me, but I wanna know if this still a good practice? I know, I'm already 4yrs...
