Has anyone ever really thought themselves thin?

Not gone on a specific diet, but just thought themselves thin.  Just thought about being thin and eventually it came true. I'd love to hear of anyones story where that actually occured and if you think it is really a possibility.

There was a special on 20/20 that talked about a women who did hypnosis for weight loss, that she was talked thru a bypass surgery and that it actually helped her start losing weight. Did any of you ever see that special?

I was wondering almost out loud to myself IF we are not overweight because we are scared? Perhaps we don't feel a sense of belonging and we eat to preserve our lives?

Do we overeat because we are scared?

If we were loved at work, loved at home, would we think thin and therefore be thin?

      Easy Exercise,
Thanks for responding. I most definitely think weight gain has to do with our emotions. But I think if we were scared we wouldn't eat a whole lot. I think a sense of self worth is necessary to move forward with any goals in our lives especially weight loss. I also think most of us don't pay enough attention to what it is we are eating and thus eat too much. ie: We are on the run and catching quick bites here and there but it is devoured so quickly that we don't realize we've even eaten then we become hungry again as our brain hasn't processed what we just did. If we take the time to make our own meal and actually sit down and enjoy it then we'd probably lose more weight and gain more sanity from taking a load off . But I think self worth is a big key, when we are feeling helpless or worthless, I think we tend to give up easier and stop caring what we look like. So somehow we need to muster up enough self worth to allow us to move forward to taking a walk or whatever.
Also you mentioned being loved at work or home etc...that's nice but we need to love ourselves first and not really worry about what other people think of us. If we loved ourselves more we would of course attract that love right back. So to, if we really wanted to lose more weight and were focused on being thin than I think we would be. Where is it that we focus our attention? because that is surely what will show up for us,never fails.
