I have just about cut out the diet soft drinks and changed over to water and lemon. I squeeze my own fresh lemon juice and pour it into bottled water. I try to drink at least eight bottles of lemon water a day and it does work. I've lost 56 pounds so far with the lemon water and changing my eating habits. As a diabetic and cancer survivor this is very important.  I have also started walking when I am able. And if I can do it believe me anyone can.

Congrats, it is quite an accomplishment to overcome the habit of unhealthy eating and drinking.  Increasing water is a healthier choice for anyone, but it is likely the cutting of the soft-drinks (and other unhealthy empty-calories) that is causing you to lose weight.
Keep up the great work!  56lbs is fantastic.

Wow congratulations! 56lbs is beyond amazing! it seems like you have incorporated small changes into your life to achieve weight loss rather than these crazy fads of crash diets. No doubt you'll keep the weight loss off too!

One word of caution though. Lemon is really acidic on the enamel of the teeth so you might want to ensure you are getting regular dentist updates to ensure your teeth stay strong. As it's diluted I'm sure it can't be anywhere near as bad as some of the soft drinks out there!

I APPLAUD YOU!  For making your health a priority.  I've changed my eating habits, too.  And I am delighted to say that if you are determined to change your ways, it will work.  I love a slice of lemon in ice water, and I have totally given up a 4-5-a-day Mountain Dew habit a few years back.  Congratulations!

Yes I was drinking 8-10 20 ounce Pepsi a day plus my eating was out of control. Four years ago I was diagnosed with lymphoma and so far I'm a cancer survivor. My Mom and Step Dad both died of cancer. The well on our property was contaminated and it killed them and my aunt and another lady up the road from them. I didn't live there but was there every day.

About the same time I found out I was a diabetic with highly insulin dependent diabetes. The 56 pound weight loss helped that a little.

I drink my water and I do the cabbage soup diet about three days a week. I've also started to make juice out of fruits and vegetables and that really helps me.

I am really weak though still yet. I once was a power lifter and I can't believe how weak I am now. Really just a shell of my former self.

    Thanks much for your replies.
