New Years Resolution Recipe

Updated on November 24, 2010

Common Sense New Years Resolution

It doesn't take a Common Sense expert to look around and notice that most of the people who make New Years resolutions don't keep them. If fact I would say that a greater amount of people fail to reach their goals if they actually make a News Years resolutions. People used to ask me all the time what my New Years esolution was. Never seemed to have an answer. People always want to quit smoking that is a popular one. Lose weight is probably number 1? Get out of debt and quit drinking comes up as a resolution all the time.

Lets be realistic how many times have we spouted that we wanted to make a change in our life. How many times did we wake up the next day feeling foolish and some of us not even remembering what we said the night before. Common Sense should tell us, if we want to change the way we feel look or act it isn't necessary to proclaim it to the world. Maybe we could try to learn more to see why we are so destructive to ourselves?

It doesn't seem to help to place blame although many times I have wanted to blame other circumstances for why I feel the way I do. When will you take responsibility for your own life?

Isn't it time for all of us to grow up and stop acting like children. You could take responsibility for your own feelings actually isn't it you that chooses to feel a certain way?

Do you allow other people to tell you how you are supposed to feel about certain issues? Is that how you really feel?

Stop playing games with yourself and others, tell people how you feel about them with out being negative or vindictive. Its not necessary to make any resolutions to anyone but yourself to change your life. You don't have to listen people that pressure you to be a certain way. Sure some people think they are being helpful. Notice I said some people think!

Do you notice that many of the people that try to dictate how things should be for you are un-happy with their own life? Watch out for these type of people. These people that some call friends are probably far from it, if they keep trying to tell you how to live your life.

Learn to love yourself and you will learn to love others. You have probably heard that before, now it time to start believing it. Did you ever notice the people who like and accept themselfs are much happier than those that don't. If you are having a hard time liking your self, try accepting your self first.

When you get to know yourself and finding out that there are plenty things that you do not like about yourself, its time to learn how to change.

You can become the person you want to be and you do not have to necessarily listen to the people who are not a positive influence on you. Learn to be around people who are respectful of your feelings. Stand up for yourself. If you need to make changes in your life take it slow and easy. Change is the only constant in life you are going to change even if you do not want to. I hope that we all can change for the better in our own eyes.
