To Me, Writing is a Presentation Skill that requires Creativity on the writers part.
There are individuals who hold a true talent for writing. Those who don't hold the talent can mimic them with just creativity.
I think writing is both talent and creativity. You must be able to write well in regards to grammar, language, clarity of expression and also be creative in compiling your thoughts.
I think, it is both-- If you have some creative ideas in mind, you should be able to present it effectively to the readers. For that, having good command of language is necessary, whether it is spellings, sentence formation, systematic presentation etc. So it is a combination of both.
I think it is both a talent and creativity. My sister would probably say it is more talent though.
To my mind it's both. I wasn't blessed with the innate talent of writing for had I been, I'd be a published author by now. But I love all the creativity it involves and dabble in it with as much respect and dignity for the art as possible.
Creativity itself is a talent and talent needs creativity to present. So writing is a talent which needs creativity to make it effective.
A talented writer is one who has creativity. The two go hand-in-hand. Creativity is involved not just in writing, but in art, music, and a host of other crafts and skills. To be talented in any skill, it takes practice, a little hard work, and determination.
I agree with teaches. Creativity is talent. A good writer is creative in a way to captivate his/her audience and make them yearn for more. I think they go hand in hand.
Writing is the product of creativity. Without the initial creativity needed to come up with the ideas or be a visionary, talent would not matter. If you don't have the creativity, the talent can't pull from it! It's like an assembly line. My creativity creates the building block of the end result or the product. My talent molds it into what it's supposed to be. You gotta have both to be a good writer. Now the strangest thing is, that talent isn't perfect yet, it needs to grow over time and create a better product each time. If you can't grow your talent, you've got a few screws loose. Back to drawing board per se.
It is a talent at its root (and creativity is part of that talent) but it also requires hard work and dedication to turn it into something.
