   What is your "turning point" childhood memory?
   
   Childhood memories can be good and bad, they can make you happy or sad. But more than that, they could have been the turning point in your life. They could've inspired you, Scared you or may be just given you the required lesson, and impacted your life in a huge manner. So do you have such a Childhood memory? Please share along with it's "turning point"  impact.
   May be it inspired your write something.

   I was overly shy although I had many friends and I did not like being the center of attention but in 7th grade I decided to try out for cheer leading which I got; and on from there. I would say that was a turning point for I had to be outgoing whether it was how I felt or not. Later in life I had my own business and that really made that possible for me to be a good and friendly outgoing business person. By then there was no acting.

      Sometimes what we are poses so many hurdles in the path taking us where we want to be. We have to change ourselves - most underrated and difficult investment in dreams Glad it worked out for u. That was really some turning point Childhood memory

   My turning point is something I cannot even talk about or even think about without crying like a baby.  I was eight years old, and that is as far as I can go at this  stage.
   I have tried to write it down as a continuation or link in  my hub pages stories of my  life from early days in British India, but I  just do not have the guts to do so..
   And yes, there are tears in  my eyes and a broken heart right now... sixty-five  years later.

      Twilight Lawns, I feel for you, that you are very sad and heart-broken, after 65 years. It must be very hard for you, but this is a start. Finding a way to release "bad" memories will allow you to live a better life.

      I won't say u should forget it, u must've already tried that a lot. I'll share wht I do with my bad memories, the days when I was in a lot of physical pain. I try 2 think, present days are better than those, I start feeling gr8ful tht it's over...

   When I was a teenage my mom died and I moved in with my aunt and uncle. I was the nightmare teenager getting involved with lots of things I shouldn't. I was headed down a very dangerous road.
   
   My aunt and uncle asked me if I wanted to "talk" to someone. There was a psychologist at Pepperdine University that I began seeing once a week. Dr. Holland. I would get out of school early on Friday's and drive out there and spend an hour with him.
   
   I am not a big fan of therapy but this man was wonderful. I learned so much from talking to him. I learned about myself, why I was so angry and the list goes on. I would say seeing him was really a turning point in my life - one I desperately needed at the time.

      I'm glad your aunt and uncle help you make a logical choice by talking to someone, n that you met Dr. Holland n you could learn so much, specially about yourself. You got the "turning point" when you needed one, you were found b4 getting lost forever
