   Is anyone getting ready for National Novel Writers Month?
   
   Anyone already prepping a story and their typewriter?  Anyone adding 50,000 words to an already started novel?

   Yes. I decided that the novel I've been working on forever I'm finally going to try to get out by adding that 50,000 words.I'm writing chapter summaries now so I'll know what to write in November.

      I think the spirit of NaNoWrMo is to promote writing.  The idea is to all encourage each other to write more.  By doing it all together it gives a little competition and camaraderie.  Set a goal and go for it!

      I couldn't agree more with the idea of encouraging each other in our endeavors. In fact, I'll sign up to do just that in the forums. I just wouldn't feel right actually entering my project since it's already started.

   I've already started a little bit of prep work in my notebook and I have all but nailed down the novel I'm going to write. Now is the time where I'm looking at the challenge as a fun way to get old ideas onto paper, having thankfully forgotten the overload from previous years. I've completed it every year since 2012, but each time it's over I seriously debate not doing it next time. It really is a good way to 'force' yourself to write, but I also find that I 'force' a book to end when it probably should be longer.

      That's awesome that you have completed it. I think the point is to get the book out of you and if you want it to be longer you can make it longer later. It's great you've done prep work on your novel before hand. I think it's a really good idea.
