   One sweet potato on each side of the box would give you a vine y plant to hang down along the window or you can support it and let it go up and over your window. and a cluster of red petunias in the center with a cluster of white petunias on each side of the red ones if you have big enough of a box. I believe this arrangement's of beauty would turn a few heads, and merit some well deserved comments.

   Because I am very partial to herbs and all things herbal, I would plant a kitchen herb window box.  I would include basil, oregano, thyme, parsley, sage.  Plant rosemary in the middle.  Depending upon what herbs you use in your recipes and the size of the window box, dill and/or cilantro could be planted as well.  Make sure to pinch or trim off the tops of your herbs regularly to keep them tidy and bushy.  Don't let them flower if you want to continue using them in soups, salads, meat dishes, etc.
