Is there anything more unAmerican than trying to break a union other than sending our jobs away?
As the union continues to fight the governor in Wisconson the questions are does the American Dream die with the death of the Union and the death of the middle class? Why don't we force government officials along with CEO's to take pay cuts if they have to lay people off? How many Republicans and Democrats can I offend with this? Why do we as a country allow companies to ship our jobs away, lay off people, and still allow the average CEO to make 280% more than the workers?
I do not believe there is anything more unAmerican. Breaking the unions is backed by the Koch brothers, the billionaires who own much of American business. Maybe companies are striving to take us back to the turn of the previous century when they held all the cards and could take advantage of the then immigrants. Once the European immigrants, by way of a second and third and so forth generation, formed unions to no longer be taken advantage of, companies had to seek out the poor in other countries with no unions and people willing to accept slave wages. Now that those 'poor' countries, such as Chinese workers, seek better wages, it also costs American companies more to ship goods here and elsewhere, they would like to come back to America, but want to call the shots. The power of billionaires like the Koch brothers should never be underestimated.
The Rebublican party is not trying to help America they are trying to destroy the Democratic base of support, unions and working people. Without opposion they can give the rest of our country away to their rich supporters. CEO's are mostly republicans who get a big raise for laying off workers.
I certainly can't think of anything more UNAmerican than busting unions and shipping the good jobs with fair wages and benefits overseas , to leave our people jobless ( or grossly underpaid in jobs w/o benefits) , and to exploit the people we ship these jobs to. Corporate America is running and ruining this country. And blaming the working people. Why people are falling for this , I have no idea?
The actor, turned politician Ronald Reagan is the model for all of the union busters. He took what some people consider illegal and anti-American action, to stop the strike of the Air Traffic Controllers in 1981. After just two days of the strike, Reagan fired the 11,000 people of the union. He also saw to it that they could NEVER work again in their chosen profession. It's been downhill for ALL American workers, ever since Reagan's heavy handed termination of the ATCs.

http://hotair.com/archives/2011/03/22/f … w-capital/Yeah sure the unions are for working Americans! No! They are the new radicals the subversives that wish to destroy this nation rather than give up on their grip of the American tax payers' purse! These people are as evil as their socialist...

I believe that labor unions were a virtual necessity in years past - they helped correct deplorable and disgusting conditions in the workplace. But are they necessary, or even desirable, in modern America? There is little doubt that there are still workplaces in this country that are in need...

Where I work there is no union. Should I be concerned? The company I work for refuses to have a union so I was wondering if I should be concerned with this.

There has been some interesting moves by the Republican majority in many states to push through right-to-work legislation. This would cripple unions in a lot of ways. Are you for or against right-to-work? http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2 … ttack.html
