It took me 2 years to reach $50.00, but that was because I put HP on the back burner for over 2 years, after my initial inception with them back in 1-2009.  My advice is to concentrate on one writer's site as it makes all the difference in the world.

Hello Gloshei. Safiq here. Here are some tips that may boost traffic and earnings. Try and log onto hub pages at least once daily. Answer some of the questions that appear in your news feeds. Also read some of the hubs that might appeal to you in the news feeds. This will boost traffic a little.
Think of some of the questions you have in your mind that you would like answered. The questions you have can really be on any topic. Post the questions on hub pages. Also take part in forums. Post in forums. Do this daily. You will find it rewarding in different ways. You will learn a little more every day and the more you take part in hub pages the more traffic to your hubs will increase.
Other tips include posting links to your hubs on Facebook, twitter, Myspace and other social networking sites.
One more tip I have for you. Don't just churn out lots of hubs on just about anything. Instead use the Google ad words tool to help you assess how popular a topic you are writing about is likely to be. I wanted to write about extremism but the Google key word tool helped me understand that that for the specific type of extremism I wanted to create hubs on had very little search engine search demand. If you pick topics for your hubs that are high demand as in millions of people are searching for information on your topics this too will help generate higher traffic in the future. The Google ad words tool will also help you determine how much competition there is for traffic on any one given subject.
You want to know how you can boost earnings. What I have placed here are just some tips. Please also search hub page for hubs on this topic. There are some very useful hubs on earnings out there.
In short write on the topics that are in demand. And promote your hubs in every way possible. Also remember to ad backlinks too. I hope this is helpful to you. Best regards from safiq.

Safiq thanks for all of this advice, it has certainly given me a lot to think of.  I have mad a note of some of the things to do. I do forget about backlinks I must admit.   Great tips and thank you again.

Are you posting to facebook, reddit (only one or two a month), and stumbleupon? Are you pinning any of your pics? Are you tagging your hubs using a keyword tool such as google ad words? Are you active in the forums and answers (not required but helps people here find you, who in turn share your work)?

I am in a similar boat.  I have hardly earned any money.  I have Google AdSense - I have an account with E-Bay but do not quite know how ro place a bid and truthfully I am not writing for that purpose.  Amazon - I won't go there.  This to me is a glorified Hobby with good vibes - I would like to earn more but I am not upset over it.  I keep up with Community readings - questions and whatnot yet it does not seem to bring me $.

Gloshei - I was considering going additionally to another website - I had a YouTube acct. but a porn video was given for me to view and I then had a parental filter put on my laptop notebook because I was really offended.
