It really all depends on how you filed. However, I can tell you if you have sent in your tax return and it has been acknowledged by the IRS then you can go to www.irs.gov and click on the where's my refund? You will probably need a copy of your return to answer the questions on the site. After answering a few questions, it will inform you regarding the status of your refund and maybe even give you the amount of time that you should expect to pass before you see your refund. Hope this helps, I've done taxes for a tax company before.
They are being held this year for longer times. They only either mail them or direct deposit them on Fridays.
For future reference (too late for what you are expecting now, but for next year): If you are an employee on W-4, adjust your withholding exemptions so that you "owe" them at the end of the year, rather than they owe you. The number of exemptions you claim to accomplish that may be different for state and Federal withholding.
If you "have" to file "self-employment" quarterly, consult with your accountant to adjust what you send in so that, when you file the annual return, you send them a bit additional.
There is no excuse for you not arranging your tax tribute so that you have to wait for them to return some of YOUR money to YOU. Remember, it's YOUR money, not the government's. Don't "lend" it to them interest-free.
And, you could look into resisting.

The current debate format is a farce and is nothing more than a slug fest that we watch. The moderators have little to no control over the debaters. John Donvan has a petition that proposes change the current format to the Oxford style format where the debates are done in a civil manner...
